In The House of Our Idols, God Shall Strike Thee!

It has been bitterly cold here. The nation as well this winter has experienced the same thing. Our nation today as of 2008 is seeing many more hits on the radar for a tough one. I for one will be glad for spring. When I see green, I think of hope, growth, fresh-newness of life, hope eternal springing forth from the Lord himself. Although we do live in the end times and I believe the trouble we have been warning about from all our sites and news sections, plus our radio shows is closer now than ever, there is reason for hope. Today, as the wind whips, the snow reveals it strength, the mountains stand a dark blue against the horizon, and it clearly is January where I live. It is chilly, cold, brazen, and hard to bear. That’s the way it is here. For years growing up I knew this country as that way. In the winter, all you do is try to survive.

Moreover, as society groans under the troubles coming, maybe we will all understand how hard it was for the pioneers to travel, live, and survive without all the modern things we enjoy. No doubt Americans today enjoy a lifestyle unparalleled in human history. I find myself at times feeling at a loss with all these things we enjoy. Societies and Christians overseas bear the brunt of the persecution. Here in America we live an abundance that borders on godlessness, even in the churches.

When I stay warm in my house, I think and even pray for those who are cold, lonely, and outside. When I eat, I think of those who have none. As I continue to enjoy all these things, the world faces worsening violence, bloodshed, persecution, famines, starvation, plagues that there ever was. Americans one day will know lack. Our nation, once a haven for the weary, has become a watering hole for the get rich, selfish, and those full of bitter ambition, those of our day who will succeed at any and all costs. As a result our children, the poor, the widows, the inner city, and many more are left to fend for themselves. Even the churches today are that way, all in the guise of religion. Today, as we watch the stock market go into turmoil, know that there is much trouble coming. It will put the faith back where it belongs. You must have faith, not in the dollar or American economy. Have faith, not in your doctor, lawyer, priest, rabbi, or church. Have faith, not in your wife, yourself, your son, your daughter, or anything else. Have faith, in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, faith in His Son Jesus Christ, Yeshua Ha Massiach. It is high time for Americans to remember from whence they came and the hardy faith filled people who got us this far. Today, American society has forgotten all this, as they have become intoxicated with the hybrid lifestyle of money, fame, fortune, technology, and even religiosity. God forbid.

America needs to awake from her sleep for the time is later than she thinks. I have spoken to Pastors and other believers about those we support, for example overseas. I tell them how little they have and how much they need. More than once, they have told me, it’s their own fault, so to speak, “if they gave more, the Lord would take care of them”. As if they had anything to give. Not everyone has money around the world. Many people are poor, spending a majority of their day trying to find enough to feed their children and themselves. If they are lucky enough to get any money, it is barely enough for a meal. We have so little understanding of what is going on. I think many times Americans are secluded in their own little world. Also, they really have no idea what is happening. The Apostles warned the last day believers of that. Read the following scripture as it warns us to take heed.

Luke 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

So many churches and believers not to mention the rest of society are caught up this way. Their lives are very full. They are busy daily surviving, paying bills, concerned with the cares of this life, so concerned in fact, that the day of the LORD will come upon them totally unawares. One day they will go to work as usual and then, wham, the end will come. This will be totally unexpected. That is why, we work hard to remind all people to do the best they can do to prepare and seek the Lord today. You don’t have to be a Prophet or priest, but you do, have to give your day and life to the Lord. Daily, read the bible, pray when you can, wherever you can. Some people have the luxury of being able to pray all day or most of it. While others have many responsibilities, these people have to discern their day and find the time to seek the Lord.

The day of the snare will be upon all the earth very soon. A Time when the Jewish people will call it “Jacobs’s trouble”, this is a time of trouble unlike any other at anytime on this earth.

Jeremiah 30:6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?
7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:

In America, we have hardly known such trouble. Our early forefathers have known this, but the generations of the past 50 years have not seen any. We can assuredly say the generations of the last 15 years have only known tremendous prosperity, godlessness, rebellion, and lukewarmness in Christians and in society. It is a generation that is pure pagan and unlike any other. A generation full of computers, cell phones, brand name clothes, fast cars, comfortable lifestyles, Ipods, and much more. It is a generation that has no idea of the true meaning of the ‘fear of the Lord’, nor of the phrase ‘being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible’. We will see this day come, which the Lord God will send. He has warned us time and again, we have ignored him. Now, when it comes, many will cry, but he will not hear. The scripture below is relevant, because it addresses Judah, which can be seen as a type of the church or believer. It is a warning because in the church we have wrought lewdness. God did not spare Judah or Jerusalem because of her idolatries; he will not tolerate our lewdness or idolatry either, especially in the church, for judgment will begin with the house of God. Then if the church and believer barely survive where will the godless and unbelieving society be? Facing the terrible judgments of the LORD God, blessed be his name.

Jeremiah 11:13 For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal.
14 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
15 What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.
