The Mars lander
On May 25th, 1787 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania delegates convened to write a new constitution in what was the first major constitutional convention. George Washington presided over the event. Later, after the union was formed, May 25th 1961 to be exact before a joint session of congress John F Kennedy announced his goal to initiate the Apollo Program to put a man on the moon before the end of the decade. It was many years later on May 25th 1977 that George Lucas brought his film to the forefront and released it. It immediately became a classic.
The date of May 25th has run through American history. Across time and space, a cold, dry world with a thin carbon dioxide atmosphere lay still except for a small object. It is a dry world, with no liquid water, no rivers, lakes, or oceans. It has been the subject of Sci-fi movies, speculation, and the object of men’s dreams for eons. It is a frigid, bitterly cold planet, but hopes have collided with reality. It happened on this date, May 25th, 2008.
Man has always sought to know more. It is this wanting to know, that has pushed him to the further regions of capability. It is this urgent need to find out what is on the other side. In the unknown, beyond the reaches of mans existence, what is there. It is this desire that has pushed movie makers, writers, and even scientists to solve the riddle. It is this riddle that is always at the forefront of men’s minds. Thus on August 3rd, 2007 the journey began. A mission failed as it were, out of the dust of this came a rebirth. Reborn they say, out of fire. The bird of ancient mythology arising out of previous endeavors arrived at its destination on May 25th 2008. With the touchdown of the Phoenix Mars mission Lander, the hopes of men will be met in a full frontal attack of this Mars landscape with all its opposition.

The Mars landscape
Like the Phoenix bird of ancient mythology, the Phoenix Mars Mission is reborn out of fire; this new mission was created from the embers of previous Mars endeavors. Phoenix will use many components of two unsuccessful Mars missions, MPL and MSP ‘01. Using lessons learned and an extensive testing program, scientists and engineers are confident that Phoenix will rise from the ashes revealÂing clues in the martian arctic soils about the history of water and potential for biology.http://phoenix.lpl.arizona.edu/pdf/fact_sheet.pdf
One of the primary motivations for exploring our solar system is to answer the question, Are we alone? Another motivation Is there life on other planets? With these questions is the one that pertains to Mars. Was there life on ancient Mars? Is there life on Mars now? It is this seeking, which mans seems to be good at, which motivates people to know more. These questions are being asked more and more today in the light of the many UFO sightings and related alien phenomenon. Yet, man has a tendency to deny the existence of God, while looking to the universe as a self expanding and creative model capable of keeping itself in order. The thought of how it all began has caused man to deny the one ‘creative God in Genesis’ who brought all we know into existence. Yet the hope of those who brought the Phoenix mars mission to this stage are hoping to find out the questions that has plagued man from the beginning, these questions “are we alone†and the second question being “why are we here Both these are the true questions behind all others that men may ask. Even though many bible believers can read the scriptures and find these answers in its pages, for many, including others who see the bible as mere fiction, the answers are yet to be fully solved.

The Heavens declare the glory of the Lord
2 Timothy 3:7 Â Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Psalms 19:1  ¶<> The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Psalms 57:5 Â Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.
Psalms 57:11 Â Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.
Psalms 97:6 Â The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
Psalms 108:5 Â Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;
Psalms 113:4 Â The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.
Habakkuk 3:3  ¶God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.

Mans fascination with Mars has been recorded over the historical sphere since man has walked this earth. Now with mans ability to succeed in putting a step forward, the planet is no longer a mystery. Just like the Tower of Babel, who built up a monument to reach the heavens, today, man has reached the heavens. With this ability, man has found out how big God is. For beyond the reaches of earth lays the moon, then mars, and other planets. The stars and beyond all is more galaxies. Is there no end? Not that man can see anyway. Yet, the hope is and has been that we will find that this little speck of dust we call earth, is home to humans. We have yet to find other life as we are, carbon based life forms.
In all this searching man is certain to come upon another form of life. One that will bring him full circle to what he wants. What is life about? Where is life headed? What about all the planets, the stars, and the galaxies, where are life forms with which we can interact. The movies today have all, including the television, brought us full circle. On each of these forms of entertainment we are currently finding other life, as with us, who live and find other life forms on other planets. In the movies, the reality is that “there is life on other planets.†In the movies, the reality is that “Aliens, other life forms†are in contact with us. In the movies, there is no doubt, this other life exists.
As we view the successes of men on Mars today, let us consider this. All this is a prelude to a greater knowledge. That is, ‘other life’ will be presented to us in all its delusion, these so called other forms of life, the Vatican has already confirmed as saying, ‘it’s okay to believe in Aliens.†All this sets the stage for the full release of the Alien agenda currently being foisted upon the world. With this Alien agenda will come the delusion of the ‘higher masters’, the ‘alien gospel’, and the ultimate ‘next level of mans evolution’. The people, the nation, and the world are currently being prepared for this next level and believe it or not, the current success of the Mars Phoenix program lays out the beginning of this coming delusion.
2 Thessalonians 2:11 Â And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 Â That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Is there Life on other Planets?
It is possible that life on other planets could be very different from what we are accustomed to on Earth. But in order to look for life in the universe, or even in our own Solar System, researchers must have a set of criteria by which to define what life is. Based on our current level of understanding, the best approach is to look for characteristics or traits that are common among many different living organisms. [phoenix.lpl.arizona.edu/mars143.php]
Are we Alone?
Since the telescope was first invented in 1608, technological advances have made it possible for us to look at other planets in our solar system, and even far beyond to other galaxies. One of the primary motivations for exploring our solar system is to answer the question, “Are we alone?”. [phoenix.lpl.arizona.edu/mars143.php]
Life on Mars now?
The recent discovery that ancient Mars probably had liquid water on its surface means that the conditions for life probably existed at some time in Martian history. But what about the present? Could there be life on Mars now?

Here is the official release of this event!
NASA””s Phoenix Spacecraft Lands At Martian Arctic Site
Press Release
May 25, 2008 — NASA””s Phoenix spacecraft landed in the northern polar region of Mars today to begin three months of examining a site chosen for its likelihood of having frozen water within reach of the lander””s robotic arm.
Radio signals received at 4:53:44 p.m. Pacific Time (7:53:44 p.m. Eastern Time) confirmed the Phoenix Mars Lander had survived its difficult final descent and touchdown 15 minutes earlier. The signals took that long to travel from Mars to Earth at the speed of light.
Mission team members at NASA””s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif.; Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Denver; and the University of Arizona, Tucson, cheered confirmation of the landing and eagerly awaited further information from Phoenix later tonight.
Among those in the JPL control room was NASA Administrator Michael Griffin, who noted this was the first successful Mars landing without airbags since Viking 2 in 1976.
“For the first time in 32 years, and only the third time in history, a JPL team has carried out a soft landing on Mars,” Griffin said. “I couldn””t be happier to be here to witness this incredible achievement.”
During its 422-million-mile flight from Earth to Mars after launching on Aug. 4, 2007, Phoenix relied on electricity from solar panels during the spacecraft””s cruise stage. The cruise stage was jettisoned seven minutes before the lander, encased in a protective shell, entered the Martian atmosphere. Batteries provide electricity until the lander””s own pair of solar arrays spread open.
“We””ve passed the hardest part and we””re breathing again, but we still need to see that Phoenix has opened its solar arrays and begun generating power,” said JPL””s Barry Goldstein, the Phoenix project manager. If all goes well, engineers will learn the status of the solar arrays between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Pacific Time (10 and 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time) from a Phoenix transmission relayed via NASA””s Mars Odyssey orbiter.
The team will also be watching for the Sunday night transmission to confirm that masts for the stereo camera and the weather station have swung to their vertical positions.
“What a thrilling landing! But the team is waiting impatiently for the next set of signals that will verify a healthy spacecraft,” said Peter Smith of the University of Arizona, principal investigator for the Phoenix mission. “I can hardly contain my enthusiasm. The first landed images of the Martian polar terrain will set the stage for our mission.”
Another critical deployment will be the first use of the 7.7-foot-long robotic arm on Phoenix, which will not be attempted for at least two days. Researchers will use the arm during future weeks to get samples of soil and ice into laboratory instruments on the lander deck.
The signal confirming that Phoenix had survived touchdown was relayed via Mars Odyssey and received on Earth at the Goldstone, Calif., antenna station of NASA””s Deep Space Network.
Phoenix uses hardware from a spacecraft built for a 2001 launch that was canceled in response to the loss of a similar Mars spacecraft during a 1999 landing attempt. Researchers who proposed the Phoenix mission in 2002 saw the unused spacecraft as a resource for pursuing a new science opportunity. Earlier in 2002, Mars Odyssey discovered that plentiful water ice lies just beneath the surface throughout much of high-latitude Mars. NASA chose the Phoenix proposal over 24 other proposals to become the first endeavor in the Mars Scout program of competitively selected missions.
