What Sayeth the Poet?
A Psalm
By the Watchman Dana G Smith

Finding quiet with the LORD
What sayeth the poet?
What mention ye of the Lord today?
Speak out, for thy writings inform.
Go not away, but talk to me!

Go to the matchless Holy God above,
Yea, come now unto me and listen O’ little one.
“I am the LORD God that dwelleth on high,
I sit upon the lofty regions,
I set the bounds by which all things live,
Know this, I take time for you,
To watch, to observe, to know, and to see!
I know thy every thought, see I your every move.
There is a place for all to flee for safety,
To come for mercy, free from sin and stain of evil,
By the Blood of the Lamb, there is pardon for all,
Today and tomorrow, there is my grace and mercy,
So come, freely receive, give I unto these things.”
Thus writes the poet, as I heard, so shall I write,
Deep within my spirit, there is a victory cry,
And thus I say unto thee:
“Be sure to seek Him, be sure to thank Him,
Worship Him and Praise His Holy name.”
Thus saith the Poet Again:
“Seek this God, my Lord, and everlasting King.”
