Signs of the Storm

a Psalm

Day LORD Dark

Amos 5:18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

Psalms 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

Another storm approaches, a sign of the times.
The wind is blowing, bringing it in, no sign of snow, yet;
But the signs reveal, the storm is coming, soon!
I sit here, looking out feeling it now,
The certainty of the storm, but also the judgment.
What judgment you may ask?
Gods judgment for sure!
At times, some moments, that is,
I am at a loss for all the true words,
The correct phrases and description of what is coming.

Psalms 40:10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

Judgment is coming, with it comes death!
For some, that is sure and certain.
For others, deliverance until that moment in Eternity,
Yea, before God, who judges all men after death!
The people are blind, as in Noah’s day.
The people are deaf, as in Isaiah’s day.
The people reject the message and messenger,
Yea, as in the time of Jeremiah.

Psalms 119:11 ¶Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

All the same, but different moments in time and history,
Yet here you and I are,
In a nation that forgot God,
A people of pride and iniquity,
Before the LORD, who will not repent.
Thus, death comes and with it, the end thereof.

Isaiah 28:15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

This is a people so fooled by those who led the nation,
A people so unsuspecting as those who have gone before,
A people so headed for disaster, yet they will not stop.
I have no words to fully describe it,
Usually I do, the phrases come, thus I write,
But today, with the storm approaching,
I can hear the wind, the storm is coming,
I can see the signs, the trees moving,
I know the history, when this occurs, change is coming!
So as before, when seeing the signs, I know the storm,
Yea, in its fulness, is coming and will not be stopped.
Surely, I can do nothing to stop it,
For it, as with many things, are out of my hands.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

So, in that moment when the storm arrives,
Having seen the signs, I have prepared my shelter,
I trust God, the LORD even our Father,
who has given me hope in his son,
The only begotten Son of God,
Jesus Christ, yea, my hope!
But with that hope, is action,
I know I have to prepare, even as I have Hope,
So having done so, I will stay hid,
When the storm in its fury arrives,
I will stay hid, safe, for now,
In the hand and provision of the LORD God,
Who has take care of me all these years,
Yea, in Him, I will be hid.

Zephaniah 2:3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’S anger

But there is another storm of which I speak,
Surely you know this by now,
That this one coming is too big to avoid,
It is too huge to ignore,
It will be too harsh to hide from,
It will strike in all its fury,
As in other times, a people will see it,
For judgment brings with it death,
Darkness comes as well,
Clouds of dismay and heartache,
Pain and agony upon the land,
The fruit of which came from a reckless people,
A nation that forgot who judges all things,
A nation that did not consider the Almighty ONE!

Revelation 6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

For the pride of a nation,
For the sin of the people,
For the rebellion which ensued,
For sure, it comes, upon this land,
As it approaches,
The wind stirs,
Then dies down,
Before me all is silent,
I move and look out,
The quietness of the day,
Just before the storm,
We will surely remember this one,
The day the storm of God hit the Land,
Yes, we will remember this,
Even so, as it comes,
So say I,
‘Come LORD Jesus, Come’
