Seeing through the Glass Darkly

It was about six thirty in the morning, the snow had been coming down all night. Everything was wet with branches, tree’s, leaves, fences, houses covered in a thick 3 inch coating of the white stuff. My wife and I had again ventured out early this am and went to workout as we do on a regular basis. I was done, in the car, and was looking out as the gray haze of the morning revealed the sky and heavy white snow coming down gently. Because it had so much moisture, the water content was very high as it is this time of the year. Spring storms in our neck of the woods can be devastating and dangerous. But this one brought moisture with a rather warm day to it. The temp’s hovered just below freezing. Just enough to create snow and not enough to freeze the roadways to solid ice.

The car was warming up as I waited for my wife to join me. The windshield was melting snow as it fell while the car roof poured snow and liquid onto the surface before me.  As I peered through the window I could see the club as we called it. I could not see very good as the images were blurred by the melting snow turning to liquid on the windshield. I could normally see into the club very well through the windows, but on this day, the weather created images that prevented me from identifying what was before me. As I looked a shape formed and after a few moments of looking I could tell the shape of my wife and then clearly identify her face.

As I went through these moments in silence, I thought of this nation and the churches. How many do not believe what we  tell them is coming. I thought about the clearly partisan congress, government, and many people who back our current President. I then remember the Apostle Paul’s words to the Corinthians saying “now we see through a glass darkly.”

1 Corinthians 13:12  For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

James 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

Light n Darkness

Light and Darkness during the Day’s of Evil!

Ephesians 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

light & darkness in days of evil

The other day I was speaking to a person, whom shall be nameless. He was worried, although, he tried to disguise it. On this day I had been doing something and the LORD spoke to me about this man. Thus it was I was standing in front of him and speaking with him. The conversation was one that turned immediately to what was going on in America. Now this man made very good money as did his wife. In fact, you could say very comfortable. We did some small talk concerning the President, his election, and related issues. It all made him even more uncomfortable. He spoke to me, “I read Worldnet daily, and get their magazine”. ” I get to the point I just can’t stand to talk about what is going on or read about it, it just upsets me too much.”

James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Now this man is conservative, and as for his religious beliefs, he has them. Over the years I have talked to this man and many of his friends about what is coming. In short, they do not want to hear it or listen. I know that the Lord is dealing with him so there will be an opening one day to bring him to the Lord. I believe that! Now, he believes in the Lord, but he as far as I know has just a liberal head knowledge of it all and is definitely not Born again by the Spirit of God. America and many Americans have this belief. A head knowledge and an ability to quote John 3:16. “Yes, I believe”, this is their anthem. It may be their anthem, but it will not get them to heaven. The devils also believe and they tremble. It takes more than a trite knowledge and the ability to quote John 3:16 to truly know the LORD and follow him. To just do this, costs you nothing to serve him, there is no risk, except being wrong. Which is bad enough! The truth is, barn burning faith and discipleship is not popular today!

Bread of Affliction

Bread of Affliction
‘The Days of Unleavened Bread’
by the Watchman Dana G Smith

wheat

John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Easter in the Original KJV!

Acts 12:2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

Simply put, living in the Roman Empire had its advantages and its disadvantages. If you belonged to a new group of the ‘Way’ which followed a Jewish Rabbi called Yeshua, there were problems. The main problem was the Jews themselves who saw that this young Rabbi Yeshua was put to death on a Roman Cross. Then they persecuted his followers who claimed he had risen from the dead. This group became known as the ‘way’. It was this same group a Pharisee name Saul, later known as Paul persecuted the ‘way’ as well. It would be later on this converted Paul followed the ‘way’ as did those he persecuted in his ignorance of it.

Acts 19:23 And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.
Acts 22:4 And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.
Acts 24:14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

In the verse above [Acts 12:4] we find that during the days of ‘unleavened bread’, Peter was taken by King Herod. It is interesting to note here that the only occurrence of Easter in the bible is found in this translation which is the KJV. The word Easter here is a mistranslation because it is the greek, pascha. It is used 29 times in the New Testament. Twenty eight of those times, count it 28, the word pascha is translated ‘Passover’ in the English. But for the translation of the King James, at least for this original version of the KJV, it was translated ‘Easter’. Now in looking at this, I reviewed other translations of the bible: Darby, Young’s literal translation, Webster Bible 1833, and the New King James version, which all had properly translated the greek word ‘pascha’, strongs 3957, as ‘passover’. After all, it was the ‘days of unleavened bread’, which follow Passover. If they mentioned ‘Days of unleavened bread’, they would also use ‘Passover’. The trouble in this translation was the ‘anti-Jewish’ sentiment that ran deep since the time of Constantine. As the church removed all vestiges of the Jewish feasts and celebrations, including sabbath and put in their own. As with most celebrations, the church incorporated, some pagan symbols and practices in the process as well. But that is for another time. It is here that we need to understand the early church and the fact that they kept the feasts, shabbat, and related celebrations commanded by God in the Torah. They were simply following what their Lord had done. Afterall, Yeshua [Jesus] kept all of them, so did the Apostles, and the early church.

LORD, Deliver us from Egypt

Oh, LORD, Deliver us from Egypt

By the Watchman Dana G Smith

Greetings in the Name of the only LORD God, even our Father, and his blessed Son, Jesus Christ, Y’shua Ha Massiach. May you be found in him, perfect, before him in love, for that which is coming, is now and has been upon us. For we are now and will be more so, a spectacle to the whole world. The skirts of this nation and its people will be raised as the firm stroke of judgment takes a strong hand. The pride and wickedness of men and nations has reached the throne of God long ago, but his grace has sent warnings through his messengers. Up till now America and its people have been able to play, work, and ignore such warnings as ‘insane babbling’s of religious nuts. But now, the day of the Watchman is close at hand and they will not be able to dismiss it anymore.

Furthermore, we understand that the people in Noah’s day surely did not know judgment of waters were about to take them. They beheld the daily witness of the righteous man and did nothing to repent. It was the LORD God who closed the door to the ark, wherein eight souls were only left alive. The judgment so severe, that God swore by himself, through a rainbow as a sign, that he would not do so as this again. Since that time, no such waters and floods have covered the earth, the LORD is true to his word. Yet, in this judgment, the people did not know this was a sure destruction upon them until the flood carried them away. So too, this nation will not know until the final hour and moment when the judgment is in its heavy courses that indeed, the God, the Eternal Amen, the Alpha and Omega is angry with the wickedness and pride of the nation. But not this one alone, for he will judge the nations and the people who have rejected him.
