As Unto Ourselves and Not Unto God
A Warning by the Watchman

Jeremiah could not forbear the ‘Spirit of God’ in his bones as a fire, for which he had to speak! So too, must I. I cannot forbear, for the ‘Fire of the Spirit of God’ pushes me to speak!
Jeremiah 20:8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.
9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
10 For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.
11 But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.
Living as unto ourselves is what Americans do well. As I was coming home early this morning the usual traffic came up, followed for awhile, then passed me on the interstate. It didn’t matter I went the speed limit, or even if I was under by a few miles per hour. People don’t like to follow, they want to lead. Like the sign says on many trucks in these parts, either lead, follow, or get the —-out of the way! I even protest that they don’t even want to have anyone lead them. I believe that is typified by our government, congress, and all Presidential administrations.
It is the American way, it seems to be independent, at least nowadays. Men and women are indifferent, hostile, quick tempered, proud, and live to themselves. As long as they have work, a pay check regularly, they can do that. Be an island unto themselves! People pretty much do that in their own neighborhoods! They go to and from work, enjoy days off, vacations, take the kids to school, and functions, amidst the whole life they lead, it is an event unto themselves. Today the relatives and even many parents are separated from their kids. An occasional text message, or phone call to see how ‘old mom and dad’ are doing. That’s what most parents get! If they are senior’s, they probably don’t even get that. They are affixed to an senior citizens group or home and that becomes their family. Then the seniors sit around and eat lunch talking about their ‘regularity’ or ‘arthritis’ or other ‘ailment’. Add to this their constant need to stretch their meager paycheck from social security. Not too long ago, we had dinner with my dad who is in his mid eighties. It is harder for him to get around, but he drives, and eats out at restaurants. He does fix a meager meal at night, a light snack. We asked him how the senior citizens was, for we knew he went, but he shook his head. “Don’t go there anymore, got tired of sitting around with all those old nuts who just sit there and complain all the time.” Now this doesn’t surprise us, for he never did like going there anyway. When he started going, it shocked us, but we figured he had worked out his dislikes about the place. Apparently it didn’t stay worked out! But Dad is someone who doesn’t dwell on what he can’t change. He doesn’t complain that he has a hard time walking. He doesn’t complain about his lot. He works at getting around, meeting people in the restaurant, and enjoying what life he has left. Add to this, Dad accepted the Lord when he was a kid in the Azusa street revival and knows very well ‘In whom he believes’. All his life he has been aware of the need to keep his life in order with the Lord.
As much as I could go on this way, I do so to bring the American way of life to a level we all recognize. It is also the place where most churches, pastors, and congregations have found themselves. They are ‘Americanized’ as well. It is convenient to have our own church, denomination, religious affiliation, or no religion at all. We are in America, we have freedoms and as such, this says we can pursue these avenues, believe as we see fit, and live unto our selves. Now Churches do reach out, and some even reach across the aisles and pathways of their lives and cities to work together. But in the end, we have had, and continue to have independent American churches doing their own thing for the Lord. In this is different belief’s, versions of the bible, understandings of salvation, and even of knowing what is pure and what is defilement.
We have been in this nation for so long, churches and Christians almost look like anyone else. We have head knowledge, and a heart with faith in the Lord or so many declare. But in their lives is a ‘lack of power’, ‘lack of supernatural power’, ‘lack of purity’, and with this sickness, cancers, colds, deaths, heart attacks, and much more. When the Apostles were on the earth, as when the Prophets of old were here, the church, the leaders of the church, and the congregations had a voice of authority that would call down on them the ‘rod’ of ‘God’ for doing things they should not. When people did not repent before God, they were challenged to repent. When they did not, judgment ensued. As in the Apostles, such as Paul, he would visit the offending believers with ‘power’ and the ‘rod’ to reveal to them the truth they should follow! Of course, if they had godly sorrow and repented then his visit was one of comfort and gentleness. It was a sure hand of God that when this Apostle came, he came in a “power” that would convict, convince, and bring sorrow! If they did not repent, the “power” stood there as a warning to the offender of the stronger judgment God would issue forth if they continued.
1 Corinthians 4:18 Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.
19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.
20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
21 What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?

Today, however, we don’t have such that will stand up. Yes we have a few who will, but their voices are small in the Christendom world in America. The power brokers of Christianity in America practically own the religious airwaves! It is their doctrine that filters the gospel to a lukewarm and putrid nature. It removes godliness, purity, judgment, and will bring the ‘rod’ to the American church. The church movement doesn’t want the ‘fire’, the ‘brimstone’, the ‘warnings’ and especially any mention of “godliness and purity”. It does not accept that fact that we are to walk in His commandments, keeping his way before him in purity and truth. It does not follow the fact that as the saints of God we must remove all sin from among us! We flirt with sin, laugh at sin, watch sin, pet sin, and comfy up to the sin in America. It is a life that we are now entrenched in. In short, this is the Laodacian church lifestyle today! Paul spoke to the Corinth church as well of their sin. In 1 Corinthians 4 and verse six through chapter five and verse thirteen, he goes through an exhaustive warning to them to ‘purge out the sin’.
It is actually, in summation of what Paul warned sounds exactly like the Laodacian church, and like the American church today! He said they were full, rich, and have reigned as kings. Which no one could argue that the church in America and those Christians here have lived as kings for the most part. We have been full, fed, rich, warm, sheltered, spoiled, and entertained! Paul went on to say they were wise, strong, distinguished, and they were puffed up. You see, Paul also said that the truth was that the Corinthians had not learned his ‘ways in Christ’. He said “though you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many Fathers, for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Therefore I urge you to ‘imitate me’-1 Cor 4:15-16. Yes they had many instructors, but only one father. They had learned religious ways, but not the ‘way of the gospel’, which could be a hard road as the Apostle pointed out! They had gotten rich, looked upon as wise, strong, and distinguished in Corinth. The only trouble was, they allowed sin to be in their very midst. They did not come against it, judge it, but allowed it!
Not only were they allowing sin in their midst, they were doing things just as Israel had done. Sinning to the point that even the heathen gentiles around them did not do the things they allowed. These people were puffed up, refusing to repent. Now they had refused to have anything to do with the ‘sinful gentiles on the outside’. But they did not put sin out of their midst! The Apostle said “God will judge those on the outside”, but “you must purge out the sin from your midst.”
1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
How will those on the outside know the good from the bad, if the church is as bad or worse than they are? Hint, they won’t! Today, though, most denominations, and their congregations categorically deny holiness by their actions. Today in America we hate to define sin! We don’t like those who bring sin up! We don’t like to think you would dare judge another by saying they are a sinner! But the truth here is that we must speak up and declare what is just, right, and holy before God.
We don’t have many true Apostles or Prophets that declare such things today, nor walk in the power as those in the early church. The fact is, the message today from most of the church world in America doesn’t come close to the gospel of God in holiness that the early church was taught! Paul was going to take the truth and the rod of power in discipline to the Corinth church. Today, we have no such thing! Even if someone declares such to this church world in America, they ignore it, call the messenger a false prophet, a dealer of the devil, or some other thing. They remain proud, unrepentant, and continue in their sin.
I write this now to tell you to make a note of the day and hour you read it, because it will occur! Because the church in America and elsewhere that does this thing, i.e. “they refuse to ‘purge out the leaven’ from their midst”, the rod is coming to them. The L_RD of Holiness and truth will send a rod of power and correction to them and they will not like it. They will be turned over to Satan for their refusal to listen or repent. They do not sorrow a sorrow unto true repentance! I tell you truthfully, before the One whom I must answer too, it is coming and I have indeed warned of it before; but alas they do not listen to me or others who warn. Destruction is coming and many will find this rod unbearable! It is a rod unto destruction so the soul can be saved.
There are many ‘instructors in Christ’ and they have not done you well! The ‘voice of warning’ is come, shall you listen? Your lover has brought you to the path of death, shall I not declare a warning so you shall be delivered? Comfort yourselves, Comfort yourselves, for the day of your illusion is past! The curtain is torn and the time of your visitation approaches, will ye listen oh stubborn one? The Watchman Dana G Smith Is 21:6

A Word of Comfort, a Word of Strength, unto those who follow the L_RD in truth, obedience, and Love!
This message is for the church in America and where the L_RD sends it! It is a Warning to those who are in the Church, to those who say they are called by his Name! To those who have been led into a path of destruction! Then to you who have repented, keep his word, his commandments, and are obedient, and walk in the faith and testimony of Jesus Christ, Yeshua Ha Massiach, our God is a strong tower and the righteous run into it and are safe! But we to are given marching orders for the last days!
