Introduction: Drunk on The Wine of her Sorceries

Sorcery is used once in scripture and Sorceries is used four times. In all uses of Sorceries it is described being used by ‘Babylon’. Two times in Isaiah 47 regarding Babylon and two times in Revelation regarding the people of the last days and also Mystery Babylon.
Sorcery is tied to Babylon! Only once is the word sorcery as it relates to a ‘magician or someone who practices sorcery’. That is, a typical magician or sorcerer who uses it in standard practice, that example is in Acts and regards who we call ‘Simon the Sorcerer’.
The use of Sorceries in scripture is not relating to a standard person who practices this, although it involves it. The word is used primarily of a people or in this case a place, called ‘Babylon’ where they have been able to perfect the use. In Mystery Babylon it refers to the chief architect who deceives the world through its use.

witchcraft, sorcery, often used with meanings of rebellion, seduction into false religion; from 3784 to engage in witchcraft, be a sorcerer
To Babylon: Destruction of the perfection of thy sorceries, and abundance of thine enchantments!
Isaiah 47:9 But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.
Isaiah 47:12 Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
Sorceries: Grk strngs 5331
pharmakeia, witchcraft, use of spells and potions of magic often involving drugs; from pharmakeus -5332-, magician or sorcerer; and from 5333-one who practices magical arts.
The People of the Last days who did not repent from their sorceries, fornication, thefts:
Revelation 9:21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
Mystery Babylon, for by her sorceries all nations were deceived!
Revelation 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

mageuo, to practice sorcery and magic; from 3095-mageia-magic-sorceries; and from 3097-magos-sorcerer, magi-wise men;
Simon, who used sorcery and bewitchments:
Acts 8:11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

This use is beyond a mere magician, sorcerer, or black magic, or even witch and witchcraft. This goes beyond sceances, kabbala, and the mystical arts. It goes to the main core of the rebellion against God.
This is also deeper and far more sinister than the ‘greek word’ Pharmakeia suggests and that many theologians have suggested it. It is included in this package, but the whole of humanity in the last days does not rest on whether they are using drugs, pharmakeia, being poisoned by its use, or mislead by its properties.
The drug, the sorcery used is the ‘Golden cup’, which makes drunk!
Drunk: Grk 3182
to be or become drunk; intoxicated; from 3184 methyo-to get drunken
Paul admonished the Ephesians not to be drunk with wine wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit! This is a warning not to become intoxicated. Be filled with the Spirit walk in the Spirit, don’t be intoxicated with the flesh to do the deeds of the flesh, don’t be intoxicated with the world and its lusts.
Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Drunken: two uses
1st use of Drunken: 3182
to be or become drunk; intoxicated; from 3184 methyo-to get drunken
2nd use of Drunken: 3184
a continuing drunkenness, a drunk, full to the gills, so to speak, [purple in color from all the wine]
1 Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 ¶Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
Drunken: Grk 3184-Harlot gets drunk and intoxicated with the blood of the saints and blood of the martyrs of Jesus Christ!
The use of the Word Drunk for prophecy and concerning the end times is directly related to Revelation and the inhabitants who have been made drunk with the ‘wine of her fornication’.
Note here: it is the ‘wine of her [the harlots] fornication’. Not the wine of the fornication of the world, the people, or the nations. No, they learn of fornication from the harlot! She is the source!
She appeals to the world with her wine.

This word reflects a continuing drunkenness, a drunk, full to the gills so to speak, [purple in color from all the wine].
Revelation 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Drunk: Grk 3184-nations get drunk and intoxicated with the wine of the harlots fornication. They wax rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

Drunk: Grk 4095-nations overwhelmed , being offered a drink, they take it and become drunkards
pino-to drink, drinketh, drinking; from 2666-katapino-to swallow, devour, to be swallowed up, overwhelmed; from oinopotes 3630-drunkard, wine bibber; from 4188-poma-drinks; 4222-potizo-to give or offer to drink; from 4844-sympino-to drink with; from symposion-group or companies.
Thus we have the nations have been offered a drink from the harlot, and they swallowed it up-devoured it, being overwhelmed by it, they became wine bibbers, and drank with others [the nations of the last days]
Revelation 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

Ahab and Jezebel : The Anti thesis of the LORD God

Ahab, king of Israel married Jezebel who followed Baal.
1. Ahab did evil in the sigh of the LORD above all kings before him
2. He walked in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat
-1 Kings 11, Jeroboam was Solomons servant who was given the kingdom and was told to walk in the ways of the LORD, his statues, his commandments. But he did not
-He set up golden calves [1 kings 12:28] of gold and told Israel, here are your gods O Israel which brought you up out of the land of Egypt, putting one in Bethel and one in Dan.
-He made shrines to other gods
-He made priests of all classes, not just levites
-He made people eat food sacrificed to idols
[1 Kings 13:33-34]
3. He took to wife Jezebel, foreigner, and who served Baal
4. He reared up altar of Baal in the house of Baal which he build in Samaria
5. Ahab made a grove
6. He did more to provoked the Lord God Israel to Anger than any king before him.
1 Kings 16:29 ¶And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.
30 And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him.
31 And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.
32 And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
33 And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.
1 Kings 18:4 For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)
1 Kings 18:18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim.
1 Kings 18:19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel’s table

Elijah speaks Lords judgment on Ahab and Jezebel:
1 Kings 21:17 ¶And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
18 Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it.
19 And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.
23 And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.
24 Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.
25 But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
26 And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
Ahab repents, judgment put off until his son’s days!
27 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.
28 And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
29 Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son’s days will I bring the evil upon his house.
Jehu Appointed by the LORD to bring judgment upon Ahab’s house:
2 Kings 9:5 And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.
6 And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.
7 And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.
Ahabs Death:
1 Kings 22:37 So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.
38 And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armour; according unto the word of the LORD which he spake.
Jezebel’s Death:
2 Kings 9:30 ¶And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.
31 And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?
32 And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.
33 And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.
34 And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king’s daughter.
35 And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.
36 Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:
Ahab and Jezebel:
They both had power and influence and chose evil. Ahah had influence and power over Israel and Jezebel had influence and power of Ahab. She seduced him to evil more than all the kings of Israel before Him! This brought God’s judgment!

Thyatira: Corrupt through Jezebel

Revelation 2:18 ¶And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
The Son of God Speaks, the one who died for all men! The Phrase ‘Son of God’ clearly identifies him with the ‘ecclesia-the called out ones’, the church, and also clearly reflects the new covenant. But this One, the Son of God, is seen here not as the one who walked the dusty paths in Israel during the Roman times, nor the one who died on the cross. He is seen here as the ‘glorified King of Kings and Lord of Lords’, with “EYES” [he can see all things] like a flame of fire [the refiners flame of fire to see all your acts, works, charity, service, faith, patience, works. Nothing is hid! And His feet like “FINE Brass” Where he walks, and who he is, this tells us he walks among his church, he overcame. He no longer walks the dusty paths of Israel with his feet getting dirty. No he is Lord of Lords who walks in glory, with power, and authority, to bring judgment to those he speaks.
He specifically mentions Jezebel: Jezebel is the type of rebellion against God and pure wickedness!
1. She appears as one of the church, presenting herself as a prophetess
2. She teaches as a teacher, with prophetic knowledge
3. She teaches with a supernatural power
4. She teaches rebellion against God in a form common to the church
5. She teaches fornication
6. She eats and teaches it is okay to eat things sacrificed to idols [demons]
20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
The Lord gave her space to repent of her fornication, she did not repent
1. The Lord will cast her into a bed and those who commit adultery with her
2. This bed is ‘great tribulation’ unless they repent, they will experience this
3. The Lord will kill all her children [those who follow her and keep her ways]
4. The Lord will do this to show the churches, although they did nothing to oppose this woman or her ways, that he is the judge and the One who did this!
21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
There are those yet, who do not know the depths of Satan!
1. The Lord will put no other burden on these
2. Hold fast to what you have in the Lord
3. Remember, the Lord says, he that overcometh and keepeth my workds unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations. He shall rule them with a rod of iron, even as I received of my Father.
4. I will give unto these the Morning star
24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
28 And I will give him the morning star.
29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Jesus Christ is the ‘Morning Star’, he is our sure reward!
2 Peter 1:19 ¶We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Golden Cup: The Sorceries

Revelation 19:2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
Revelation 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
The Harlot Goals:
To Blaspheme God
To Kills his servants
She is able to do this because of the ‘power of darkness that abides in her”
1. She is become the habitation of devils
2. She is become the hold of every foul spirit
3. She is a cage of every unclean and hateful bird
Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Revels in Bloodlust: she is drunk on the blood! This woman is not new. She is the one who led Israel astray through all her leaders, prophets, and priests [ex Ahab and Jezebel], she is the one who gave Babylon of old her power, and she is the one that has deceived the nations throughout the ages! She is not new to this, she is a time tested ‘harlot’ who hates God!
1. Woman drunken with the blood of the saints
2. Woman drunken with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus
3. In her is found the blood of the prophets
4. In her is found the blood of the saints
5. In her is found the blood of all that were slain upon the earth
Revelation 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration

While the nations are drunk on her ‘golden cup’.
What God sees as unclean, the nations see as a delicacy! While God hates Mammon, the nations, and the kings are waxed rich by it.
1. The nations have drunk of the cup, first the harlot commits herself to the kings, to bring them to deception, as Jezebel did with Ahab and also the N.T. Church. After these, the people then are seduced to drink as well of her cup!
2. The kings of the earth have committed fornication
3. The kings of the earth have lived deliciously with her
4. Merchants of the earth are waxed rich by her
Revelation 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Revelation 18:9 ¶And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
