‘Outcasts’
“Those Thrust out!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Isaiah 56:8 The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
“Thrust Out”
1760 [dachah, dachach /daw·khaw/] v. A primitive root; TWOT 420; GK 1890 and 1891; 11 occurrences; AV translates as “outcast” three times, “thrust” once, “sore” once, “overthrow” once, “chase” once, “tottering” once, “driven away” once, “driven on” once, and “cast down” once. 1 to push, thrust, chase, overflow, totter, sore, drive away or out, be outcast, be cast down. 1a (Qal) to push, push violently. 1b (Niphal) to be thrust down, be cast down. 1c (Pual) to be thrust down
Here we find the
Lord: H136: / ?adonay
136 [’Adonay /ad·o·noy/] n m. Am emphatic form of 113; TWOT 27b; GK 151; 434 occurrences; AV translates as “Lord” 431 times, “lord” twice, and “God” once. 1 my lord, lord. 1a of men. 1b of God. 2 Lord—title, spoken in place of Yahweh in Jewish display of reverence.
God: 3069 yhwh/yahwih
[Yâhovih /yeh·ho·vee/]
n pr dei. A variation of 3068 [used after 136, and pronounced by Jews as 430, in order to prevent the repetition of the same sound, since they elsewhere pronounce 3068 as 136]; GK 3378; 305 occurrences; AV translates as “GOD” 304 times, and “LORD” once. 1 Jehovah—used primarily in the combination ‘Lord Jehovah’. 1a equal to 03068 but pointed with the vowels of 0430.
Adonay Yehovee , Lord Jehovah, the Jews in order to prevent the repetition of the same sound since this word in hebrew, variation of 3068, yahwih, this is Yehhovee/Jehovah, the proper personal name of God, covenant name.
Adonay Yahwih/ adonay yehovee/ Lord Jehovah who is the true God, here stamps that he is going to gather those whom he made a covenant with [goes back to Abraham, David] by his covenant name here of Yahweh which the Jews use Adonay.
The point here is this God is gathering those ‘thrust out’, ‘cast down’, and will also
“I Will Gather Others besides”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
Now it is interesting, prophetic, and biblical to take note that God has always been interested in Gathering others beside Israel, not instead of Israel, but those with Israel.
Here though I could just leave it at that and ignore the rest of the verses. There are many in the church who don’t like to associate these passages with the Gentiles. The fact is, God was talking about those besides the Jews here, which are the Gentiles.
In this the LORD [Yhwh/adonai covenant name] says that the:
1. The Eunuchs
A. That keep my sabbaths
B. That choose the things that please me
C. Take hold of my covenant
2. Stranger that join themselves to the LORD
A. To serve him
B. To love the name of the LORD
C. To be his servants
D. Keep the Sabbath from polluting it
E. To take hold of my covenant
The LORD will:
1. Give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and daughters
2. I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off
3. I will bring them to my holy mountain
4. Make them joyful in my house of prayer
5. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar.
Isaiah 56:4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
Isaiah 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
8 The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
What does the Apostle Peter say on Sacrifices?
1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ
What does Paul say in Hebrews on Sacrifices?
Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
What does Jesus speak on Offerings?
Luke 21:1 ¶And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
Both Sacrifices and Offerings have to do with heart attitude, love, and devotion to the Lord God!
In these verses, the context relates the Eunuch and the stranger who will come to the Lord and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant, these will be have a place and a name better than Sons and Daughters!
Today, through the ‘blood of the covenant’, we have been brought to the Lord.
For Instance one such ‘outcast’ is:

“The nations Ephraim”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ephraim:
“The stranger that sojourneth with Israel, as one born in the land”
Exodus 12:48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
Leviticus 19:34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
Numbers 9:14 And if a stranger shall sojourn among you, and will keep the passover unto the LORD; according to the ordinance of the passover, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the land.
“Ephraim’s seed shall become a multitude of nations”
Genesis 48:17 And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head unto Manasseh’s head.
18 And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
20 And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
“The Stick of Ephraim and the Stick of Judah, they shall become one stick”
Ezekiel 37:16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:
17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.
18 And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these?
19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.
Now whether you identify with Ephraim or not, the truth is; there is a call for every single person on this planet!
Listen to the Call!
1. The Father reveals them unto babes [not many wise, noble, are called, but God hath chosen]:
Matthew 11:25 ¶At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
1 Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
1 Corinthians 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
2. All things delivered unto Jesus [Yeshua] Christ [Messiach]
Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
A. No man knows the Son but the Father
B. No man knows the Father but the Son
C. The Son [whosoever] will reveal the Father to them
1 John 1:1 ¶That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ
3. Jesus Christ invites you to ‘come unto me’
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
A. Come unto me all that labour
B. Come unto me all that are heavy laden
C. I will give you rest
D. Take my Yoke upon you
E. Learn of Me
F. I am meek and lowly in heart
G. Ye shall find rest unto your souls
H. His yoke is easy, His burden light
Revelation 14:13 ¶And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
This appeal is to those who are burdened, heavy laden, those who are tired, outcasts, and need a lift!
We are commanded to repent!
Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent
We are given the choice to believe Christ and receive him!
John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
But this appeal has an appeal for you to find rest!
Come to him!
When you come, you come in faith believing he can do as he says, otherwise why would you come? When you do come in this manner, seeking help the power of the Son of God to deliver you will cause you to believe even more! This is supernatural deliverance!
Every Person is given a measure of faith!
Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
You come to God in that faith, believing that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him!
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him
“The Harvest and the Hungry Heart?”
1. The Samaritans
Through meeting one woman at a well, one whom the jews would not have talked to, Jesus illustrates His interest in and love for the ‘outcasts’!
When it suited their purpose the Samaritans claimed relationship with the Jews, asserting that their roll of the Torah was the only authentic copy, they were equally ready to deny all connection in times of stress, and even to dedicate their temple to a heathen deity. By the time of Christ there was intense hatred between Jews and Samaritans. ISBE
Jesus forbade the twelve to go into any city of the Samaritans in Mt 10:5, but his parable of the Good Samaritan showed his love for them overshadowed any national hatred Lk 10:30.
Before his death on the cross and resurrection, Jesus main mission was to the Jews,
Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Afterwards he commissioned the Apostles to preach in Samaria and the mission to Samaria was carried out specially by the Hellenists after Stephens marytrdom.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
2. The Need:
Here we find a verse speaking volume’s in that “he must needs go through Samaria”
John 4:4
¶And he must needs go through Samaria.
Divine Compulsion, led by the Spirit of God to harvest the Crop and fill the needs!
We truly find the heart and soul of Jesus here. He later tells his disciples who wanted him to eat that “I have food to eat of which you do not know-vrs 32″ and further he explains by saying in verse 34 “My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work”.
John 4:35
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
John 4:36
And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
John 4:37
And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
John 4:38
I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
3. Jesus and the Woman at Jacobs Well!
He came to a city of Samaria, Sychar Jn 4:5, to Jacobs well verse 6. He was wearied from his journey and sat on the well at the sixth hour [by Jewish reckoning it was 12 noon, by Roman reckoning it was 6 am or 6 pm].
Give me to Drink:
John 4:7
There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
John 4:8
(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
Why ask me, Jews have no dealings with Samaritans [breaking the adverse hate wall]!
John 4:9
Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
To the Point, the Gift of God!
John 4:10
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
The Natural interest of the woman is peaked!
John 4:11
The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
John 4:12
Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
The Natural way verses the Eternal Path!
John 4:13
Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
John 4:14
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Give me this water! She wanted this water so she would not have to draw any from the well. It would be a labor saver. But the real issue had to be dealt with! She would have to come to know that the one she is speaking too is the Messiah!
John 4:15
The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
The Question to deal with sin and to reveal who he is!
John 4:16
Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
Woman answers the question but leaves some details out! She did so correctly but not completely!
John 4:17
The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
The Lord now gets to the point and correctly tells her that the one husband she has now is not her husband, but she has had five husbands!
John 4:18
For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
Thou Art a Prophet, she has not seen him as Messiah yet, but close!
John 4:19
The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
Spreading the Traditions: Mens ways divide
1. Jerusalem is place where men ought to worship
2. Fathers worshipped in this mountain [Mt Gerizim-samaritans built large temple,they were not welcomed in Jerusalem]
John 4:20
Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
The divine point: “the hour cometh to worship the Father”
1. You worship ye know not what
2. We know what we worship
3. Salvation is of the Jews
4. The Hour comes:
A. True worshipers will worship the Father
B. They will worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth
C. The Father seeketh such to Worship him
D. God is a Spirit
John 4:21
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
John 4:22
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
John 4:23
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
John 4:24
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
This Samaritan Woman knew that the Messiah, called Christ, when he is come he will tell us all things! Even though enmity between Jew and Samaritan, this woman still knew that the Messiah was to come.
John 4:25
The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
I AM HE that speaketh unto thee!
John 4:26
Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
The disciples were amazed Jesus talked with this Samaritan, when they arrived the woman left and went into the city. She said to the men, “come see a man, which told me all things that ever I did, is not this the Christ?
John 4:27
¶And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
John 4:28
The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
John 4:29
Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
The results of Jesus Visit to Sychar in Samaria was that this one woman believed he was the Christ, the Messiah and went to tell the men of her town about it!
1. The men came out to see Jesus
2. Disciples worried about Jesus not eating
3. Many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman
4. Many more believed because of his own word
5. These others who believed said this: This is important, it is personal. Jesus personally reveals to us, himself! Our relationship must be personal! It must be revelational! It must be with the True and living God!
Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.vrs 42
John 4:39
And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
John 4:40
So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
John 4:41
And many more believed because of his own word;
John 4:42
And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
Again here it is illustrated that “He Must Needs go through Samaria”
John 4:4
¶And he must needs go through Samaria.
The Harvest and the hungry heart!
Divine Compulsion, led by the Spirit of God to harvest the Crop and fill the needs!
We truly find the heart and soul of Jesus here. He later tells his disciples who wanted him to eat that “I have food to eat of which you do not know-vrs 32″ and further he explains by saying in verse 34 “My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work”.
John 4:35
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
John 4:36
And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
John 4:37
And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
John 4:38
I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
“Final notes and thoughts”
For me this is the real story! Whether you think you’re a Jew, Ephraim, or what; Jesus knows your heart, life, need, troubles, and is visiting your place now. Just like the Samaritan woman, Jesus sat down on the well knowing this woman, who was hungry for the truth. She had been married five times, had five husbands, and the one she had now was not her husband.
It doesn’t say what happened to her husbands, nor why she had so many. But the fact the story says she went into town and told the men says they knew her. Jesus knew her spiritual hunger and this was illustrated by the fact she knew of Messiah coming who is called the Christ.
This story is about need of people for the true Spiritual food and refreshment, the true water that if you drink of it, you will never thirst again.
Today it doesn’t matter, the Lord is calling to you today! Let him take you to the waters, drink deep, drink free, and be healed!
With joy shall you draw water out of the wells of salvation!
Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
4 ¶And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.
Yeshua Ha Massiah, Jesus Christ-light for and unto the ends of the earth!
1. Tribes of Jacob
2. Restore the preserved of Israel
3. A light for the Gentiles
4. My salvation unto the end of the earth!
Isaiah 49:6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
7 ¶Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.
8 Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
9 That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.
10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.
Out of those who believe on Jesus Christ shall rivers of living water flow!
John 7:37 ¶In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
