Eyes of the LORD Run To and Fro

Nwsltr-062710-The Eyes of the LORD Run To and Fro in the Earth
“As the Eyes of the LORD run to and fro in the earth is one scripture among others that form this latest Watchman newsletter. These are few of my favorite scriptures to stand on and to walk in.”

By the Watchman Dana G Smith
Keywords: LORD, earth, Eyes, disciple, believer, follow, faith, Yeshua, Jesus Christ

2 Chronicles 16:9a  For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

2 Chronicles 16:9a For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

As I write this the sun beats down from a blue sky. The days of rain are a memory but the high water still exists as the river runs the highest in decades. The lakes are full today, some dams running over as the drought of yesterday is now over. I took time to check the garden out and it is growing and doing very nicely. But even as I say this, on our news show, we cover heart and gut wrenching events that surely put the worry in many. As the world turns and tosses in its end time madness, I thank God for his goodness to me and my family. I praise him for his provision and protection. I see so much trouble and heartache as a Watchman I both feel it and am troubled by it, but to add to this, I also intercede on the behalf of those who need help. It is impossible not to be affected in some way by these events. These times are stressful to many and for these it will only get even more so. There is absolutely no way to step from where we are today to the time of the arrival of our Messiah Yeshua [Jesus Christ] with faith and hope in the Lord. That is why I write this today, as the sun hits the desk on which I write, the trees gently sway in the breeze. Life goes on, but in the end, all life is subject to the LORD. It is peaceful, but peace in life is not the same as peace in the soul.

John 14:27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Moreover, that peace, which the LORD has given to me, is unique, one of a kind. It is a peace that flows out of the inner sanctum where the LORD has placed his Spirit. This stream of life quenches the thoughts, events, and stressful times with a supernatural rest and peace that only those who have it can understand. It takes the man or the woman who is caught up in today’s world and says, “Look, the LORD has everything under control, and what’s even more important, His Eyes are upon you!” The LORD’s Eyes run to and fro in the entire earth and gives quarter only to those whose heart is perfect towards him! Those whose heart, is perfect, true, following him in Spirit and in Truth. Keeping his Word, walking in his ways, and seeking his face. These are those who don’t claim to be perfect, but know who is! They seek him, but more than just that, they Trust in the LORD with all their heart. This trust in the Only LORD God who has delivered them through his only begotten son Yeshua Ha Massiach, Jesus Christ keeps them from leaning to their own understanding. They are to walk by faith, in the LORD Period. He will direct! If these who call themselves his disciples really do trust him, then they will acknowledge him in all their ways. In this, the LORD will direct their steps. These verses found in Proverbs are followed by three warnings. The first is “be not wise in thine own eyes”, the LORD is our wisdom, his word is our guide, and his Spirit will lead us. The second is “fear the LORD”, this is the beginning of wisdom. A healthy ‘fear’ of this God, as Paul says, “knowing the terror of the LORD we persuade men.” Today, this fear is and should be that fuel to persuade us to keep our end of the agreement with the LORD. We believe, follow, and keep trusting Him, He becomes our LORD and takes cares of us as his Son’s and daughters. The final warning is “depart from evil”, stay away from it, don’t flirt with danger, stay away from the hot flames of it. You will get burned if you do not do so. Many Christians today have ignored this and in the process end up being on the receiving end of correction by the LORD. They end up walking in rebellion and stubbornness, refusing to heed what God is telling them to correct in their life. So they spend years in the rod of discipline.

Proverbs 3:5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7  ¶Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

I find it a solid promise and comforting to know the LORD’s Eyes are running to and fro in the earth looking for those whose heart is perfect towards him! If I do what I am supposed to do, stay away from evil, obey his word, seek his face, then I won’t be walking alone, his Eyes will be on me and his hand there to keep me. Now I know to some this is simplified, but I rest in the fact that God is in charge, no matter what. I also rest in this knowledge that the God who has brought me out of sin not only has kept me thus far, but he shall continue to keep me in the future. I have seen him time and again bring me forth out of trouble. I have sought his face in prayer and he has answered me. I know the God who has done this, will keep my family and I in him, as we travel the road before us. Even though, many people in the days to come may “walk in the valley of the shadow of death”, we are not alone!

Psalms 23:4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

It is in this, that is the time to come, in which, the ‘death’ and its ‘valley’ may seem large. For this is the time of judgment and shaking, wars, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, and much more. The believer is called to be wise, as the gospel of Matthew records in chapter seven and verse twenty four and five saying “therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock, And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.” The wisdom here is to not only read the Word of God, but do it! It is that doing, with faith, that will bring you to this promise. The wise in Christ Jesus will build their house on a rock, hearing and doing what the Word of the Lord says to do! Make no mistake about it, the end time snare upon all the world is a filter. It sifts out them that do and them that don’t! Don’t what? Don’t listen to the LORD, nor follow what he says. As John says to the believers, if you say you abide in the LORD, then you need to be walking as Jesus Christ himself walked!

1 John 2:5  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Many today will come to this understanding. However, alternatively, ‘Loose grace and loose morals, along with the proud do it your own way’ Christian will find out the hard way during these times, that it is Gods way, not their own way! David Wilkerson in his latest devotional quotes Dietrich Bonhoeffer. I have read Bonhoeffer’s story and book on his life. During Hitler’s reign, he stood up against the dictator and his ways. He stood for truth when most of the church went along with Hitler. In the end he was martyred for what he believed in. What he believed in was Jesus Christ, his truth, and Hitler did not. For his faith, he died shortly before liberation by the allies. Dietrich Bonhoeffer as Wilkerson points out said that the “Christian is like someone trying to cross a sea of floating pieces of ice. He cannot rest anywhere but must keep moving and stepping or he will sink. The Christian can only allow that his faith in his God will see him through.” The journey though hard, can still find the weary traveler at peace. This road has a place for the Christian to find rest in the LORD, if they will wait upon him!

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the German theologian, pictured the Christian like someone trying to cross a sea of floating pieces of ice. The Christian cannot rest anywhere while crossing, except in his faith that God will see him through. He cannot stand anywhere too long, otherwise he sinks. After taking a step, he must watch out for the next. Beneath him is the abyss and before him is uncertainty—but always ahead is the Lord—firm and sure! He doesn’t see the land yet, but it is there—a promise in his heart. So the Christian traveler keeps his eyes fixed upon his final place! [Wilkerson devotions-www.worldchallenge.org/en/devotions/2010/wilderness-journey]

Now by this time you have seen a number of scriptures. To give you a hint as today’s newsletter, it is a ‘prose’ written in the form of my favorite scriptures. Now this is not all of them, but just a few. As with you, I have favorite gospel hymns and scriptures. Both of these are inspirational, give truth, but the scripture, the Word of God is truly eternal as our Lord said of the words he spoke. He said, these words “I speak unto you are ‘spirit and are life.’”

John 6:63  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

There are many words written in the world. But there is only one written, one spoken, and one that has ‘eternal’ value with ‘life’. It is a ‘word’ that when spoken and sent out, will not return unless and until God has determined it has fulfilled its course and destiny. The word is an eternal source of power and one that when it comes, will try those to whom it is sent, the example here is Joseph. Joseph was not released from prison and bondage until the word had tried him to its fullest course. When that was finished, Joseph was released, raised up in power, and saw Gods hand fulfilled towards him. It was finished trying Joseph!

Psalms 105:17  He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:
18  Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:
19  Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.

Just like Joseph, Christians today will have the word try them as well. God’s word tries, tests, and moves in the believers lives. It is alive and will do that which God sends it to do.

Isaiah 55:11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

As you read the word, walk in it, and believe. Your walk as a Christian will find the word trying you! For God is working in you to do of his good pleasure. To bring you into the likeness and image of his Son, Jesus Christ. Again, the LORD’s Eyes run to and fro in the earth! Is it not comforting to know this? He works in you, he has predestinated you to be conformed or made like or in the express image of his Son! There is hope, God is alive, awake, and watching. You are not alone, have faith therefore, trust, and believe this!

Philippians 2:13  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Romans 8:29  ¶For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

In conclusion this would not be complete without what I consider the ‘hall of fame’ of ‘bottom line faith’ scripture. Habakkuk knew trouble and chaos where he lived. He would also come to know the invading forces and all the evil they would bring with them. However, in one of the ‘apocalyptic’ faith statements, I say this because the nations will be shaken unlike at any time. Our worlds will be shaken as was Habakkuk’s. Our faith must be resolute as was his. His faith saw the LORD as the “God of my salvation”, Habakkuk proceeded that with “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD”. He would rejoice even though life as he saw it came to a horrific climax of trouble. For he speaks of the ‘fig tree not blossoming’, no ‘fruit shall be on the vines’, ‘the olive shall fail’, the ‘fields yield no meat’, the ‘flocks are cut off’, and there are ‘no herd in the stalls’. In short, these describe the olive oil, the wine, the fruit trees, the crops, the flocks are dead, and no herd in the stalls. This paints a picture of the end of all things, nothing to eat, starvation, and destitution. The apocalypse to say it another way! Today we in the world will face the ‘apocalypse of the end times’. But this is not the end of the matter. For where ‘faith’ is, and the “LORD” who is watching, then there is hope! Habakkuk saw this, envisioned this, and in his heart knew who the God of his salvation was. No matter what occurred, no matter how bad, he knew the LORD would take care of him!

Habakkuk 3:17  Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
18  Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

The prophet also remembered the Lord told had him that many in society were as scripture records “his soul is not upright in him.” But also, the LORD said that the “just shall live by his faith.” As Habakkuk had to do this, so do we. The prophet knew what the writer of Hebrews says, which is “without faith it is impossible to please him, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Further we would also have to understand another key point here which is the ‘just living today must live by his or her faith’. That faith must be in the LORD! But if any of the just draw back from that faith and become unbelieving, then as Hebrews says, “my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”

Habakkuk 2:4  Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
Hebrews 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 10:38  Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

My friends I hope and pray this finds you well and seeking him. There are many obstacles, but the Lord is surely watching out. His eye is on the sparrow, his eye and heart are on you as well. For you are of more value than the sparrow! So look up, have faith, and trust in him. Be obedient to his word and do not turn back. The path is ahead, troubles may come at you, but in the end, heaven is before you and so is the LORD of Glory!

This is your goal: Be an Overcomer in Jesus Christ, the Son of God!

1 John 5:5  Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Revelation 2:7  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Revelation 2:11  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Revelation 2:17  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Revelation 2:26  And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
Revelation 3:5  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Revelation 3:12  Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Revelation 21:7  He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

The Lord Shall Roar out of Zion

Scripture:
“The last days are about the Lord shaking the nations and bringing the people to come to grips with just who is the authority. The Lord will establish his authority in the earth, no matter what men may think or do!”"

Joel 3:13  Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.

14  Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

15  The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.

16  The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

Modern day Jerusalem with its fences and trouble

Above, Modern Day Jerusalem, with its fences and trouble, just one part of it is pictured above, taken by Jerry Golden, Jerusalem

“For Zion’s Sake,
She shall not be empty,
But I shall Fill her,
Yea, with the redeemed of the L-RD,
I the L-RD, mighty to Save,
Full of mercy to those
Who seek me in truth”

Zion in the time of David, the prophets, and in Christian times, was known as Jerusalem, the City of David. In 2 Samuel scripture says in verse seven “David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.” Zion is Jerusalem, to many today who look for it to be a city of righteousness in the earth. There is ‘Secular Zionism’ which seeks a secular institution of which the same name is derived. These Secular Zionists push to reign in governmental form in the earth and established their own idea of Zion and not the Lords.

However, when we speak of Zion, we speak of Jerusalem, and in particular that time when our Lord will come and take up the ‘Throne of David’ and rule until all enemies are put down. In Revelation, John brings out that those who overcome will be ‘granted to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame and am set down with my Father in his throne’. Today the Lord
as scripture states in Hebrews is sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. But one day he shall be seated in his own throne! Which scripture states “unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever.”

Revelation 3:21
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 1:8
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom

Then when we look at Zion, it is that place where God has set up the throne of David, which is being ruled by the ‘Son of David’, Jesus Christ, Yeshua Ha Massiach. It is Jerusalem, where Christ shall rule and reign with those who take part in the first resurrection. It is this one where those who ‘sleep’ in Christ and those who are ‘alive’ at his coming will be united with their Lord. It is this which will begin the Thousand year literal reign of Christ on Earth.

Revelation 20:4
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5  But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Zion, though is a concept, a promise, and one that the Lord promised to fulfill. Isaiah in chapter 62 speaks of this fulfillment saying that “for Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalems sake I will not rest until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. This was to be a light for the nations all along, but only certain times and era’s like the reign of David and Solomon, did it shine forth in power and glory to the nations. From this place and at those times, the nations knew of the God of Israel and his strength. Today, though, many religions and peoples all claim Jerusalem. But Jerusalem was established by the LORD God for His people and none other. Many Messianic and Christian believers know the Lord has chosen Jerusalem. He will be there, and in its midst will be his Throne. The nations will come to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts. Isaiah speaks of the Gentiles beholding the glory and righteousness of this city, called Zion.

Zechariah 14:16
And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Isaiah 62:1
¶For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.

Isaiah 62:2
And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.

The Lord God has always sought to bring Zion to its glory. The former ways and paths will be forgotten, there will be a remnant, and the Lord God and the Lamb will be in its midst. For those who have hoped in the Lord, sought him, and trusted in the ‘Passover’ Lamb, this will be the ‘time of the millennial kingdom on earth’. This will be a new time, new era, and the Lord will dwell among his people. The once forgotten city, crushed city, oppressed city, sieged city, and one fought over for centuries will now be permanently and forever claimed by the LORD God. Those who are called the ‘people of God’, both Jew and Gentile, male and female, will be united in Christ Jesus the ‘Passover Lamb’. There will be no more enmity, hatred, and division. The culmination of Gods plan will bring those who ‘trusted in the Lords mercy’ to that point of victory in Him, through Christ.

The City is described as being a crown of Glory, finally, in the hand of the LORD. It shall be a royal diadem, and no more will it be forsaken or desolate because of its sins and bloodshed. God will rejoice over Zion and also over those who are the redeemed, the remnant of the LORD. It is this that the Watchman, even today, ‘cry aloud’ about! Watchman are never to keep silent until the Lord God establishes and in fact makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. A joy, a glory, a city full of the ‘light and glory of God’ in the earth. In it will be plenty, rest, and abundance of peace in our God!

Isaiah 62:3
Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.

Isaiah 62:4
Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.

Isaiah 62:5
For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

Isaiah 62:6
¶I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,

Isaiah 62:7
And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Isaiah 62:8
The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:

Isaiah 62:9
But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.

Isaiah 62:10
¶Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.
Isaiah 62:11
Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

Isaiah 62:12
And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

It is here that the ‘ransomed of the LORD’ shall finally, again I say finally! They shall finally, fully, and completely have their reward. The faith and patience of the saints shall be ransomed by the LORD himself as the ‘Passover Lamb’ and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, while sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” This is mentioned twice in Isaiah 35:10 and 51:11, two paramount promises for the remnant believer today. It is the fulfillment of those who have mourned, as in sackcloth and ashes, those oppressed, those downtrodden, all those who have lost their lives for the faith and testimony of Jesus Christ. It is for all those who had hoped in the Messiah, both Jew and Gentile alike. God shall wrap around you joy, as a garment of praise holds you in him. The despair, loneliness, heaviness, and all things that this life threw at you, will be gone. In its place hope and eternal salvation with the Joy of the LORD as your garment! In this the LORD will be glorified.

These scriptures in this article are just a few of the many on the millennial kingdom, heaven, the New Jerusalem, Zion, and our promise given to us that we shall come into the fulfillment of what God promised us if we do not give up!

Isaiah 35:10
And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and
everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Isaiah 51:11
Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away

Isaiah 61:3
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Isaiah 52:8
Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

Isaiah 60:14
The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

It is here that we must take a look that one of the paramount prophecies with Zion in it is one that pertains to our Lord. He fulfilled this scripture when he came into Jerusalem sitting upon as ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. It was this entrance that the people cried saying “Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.” Here we see the city of Zion directly connected to the Messiah and the fact that Zion’s King cometh. It is this King, our Messiah, in whom we hope! It is in this King that all will be united in faith, belief, hope, and obedience.

Isaiah 62:11
Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

Matthew 21:4
All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5  Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6  And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7  And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
8  And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
9  And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
10  And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
11  And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

The city of Zion and the children of promise is brought to us by the Lord who died for us. Joel says “whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered.” Further saying “as the LORD hath said and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.” Today we are come unto mount Zion [Sion], and unto the city of the living God, to an innumerable company of angels.  Here we get another picture in prophecy of the ‘New Jerusalem’. In this we have a ‘physical city called Jersualem’, and also called Zion. Then we have the ‘New Jerusalem’ where it is a heavenly city that shall come down out of heaven. This is pictured in Revelation and described by John. It will have a permanent place on the earth. This will be after the ‘new heaven and new earth are created.  This will be the start of Eternity, the millennial kingdom will be over. By this time the Devil will have been cast into the ‘lake of fire’. The Great White Throne judgment would be over and those not ‘written in the Lambs book of life’ shall also be cast into the ‘lake of fire’. In this same lake, ‘death and hell’ are also cast.

Joel 2:32
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Galatians 4:26
But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
27  For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
28  Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise..

Hebrews 12:22
But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

Revelation 3:12
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Revelation 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11  ¶And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:1
nd I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

In conclusion, let me say, Christ is our Hope and redemption. But Zion is also that which forms a hope in us as well. God has a redeemed people and a place called Zion to dwell with them. Zion, the New Jerusalem is where we shall find the Lamb and eternity! Zion represents the ‘life’ which the LORD God promised. We will have that ‘life’ culminating with salvation in and through Jesus Christ. A life not only just to be saved, but to be saved and in the presence of our God and the Lamb of God forever.
Therefore, For Zion’s sake, the Lord will not relent nor stop until he brings in Zion. For all scripture must be fulfilled. No man, no nation, no people, and no devil can stop the LORD God from establishing Zion in the Earth! He will do it and when he does, the ‘redeemed of the LORD shall come into Zion.!” Let us be one of those ‘redeemed, coming with songs of Joy!’ Let Gods everlasting ‘peace’ be in us and let his ‘salvation’ be upon our heads.
