Joel 3:9 ¶Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
Today is a literal signpost from the L-rd. In these parts it has been hot and unlike previous years of cool weather, this year we have had a true summer. The weather here along with the winds reveal signs of a change. Today it has been cooler unlike previous days. It has also been relatively quiet, with a clear sunny sky. All except for some distant spotty clouds and a breeze. This cool change in weather today is a sign. Between the wind and the cool, it tells us that there is a change in weather coming. When first coming to this country many folks believed the wind blew all the time. The truth is, it doesn’t. It just seems that way. You have to read the wind and the signs with it.
Moreover, my weatherbug also tells me a change is in the air, or forecast. Forecasts can do one thing, that is foretell according to the best available information gathered by scientific weather instruments what may occur on the earth. Today we have that ability. It is part of the knowledge we have today. With all that knowledge, however, we cannot in the end prevent major earth shift changes or events. We may think we can do that, but in fact we can only manipulate weather. The rest is in the creators ability, which is the Word, see John 1.
It is quiet this morning and I liken this to the literal ‘quiet before the storm’ scenario. It reminds me of an apocalyptic time period, which the bible refers to as the ‘beginning of sorrows’. Now I know many have us in the midst of the great tribulation, but in fact, we are not. This is a time period which the L-rd is giving his church to be informed and prepared for what lies ahead. But understand the clouds of the apocalypse are on the horizon. Just as I look out my window as I write this and see dark clouds on the horizon right now, so to is what lies before us. This storm for us today approaches and brings with it winds, rain, and other things. But the apocalypse is an event that the L-rd G-d set up to bring in the Kingdom of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is not just one war, or event, but an overriding series of events and judgments that extend from the ‘beginning of the sorrows’ unto the ‘very end of it all’.
The Prophetic Call to “Prepare for War”.
There is a call that has gone out to prepare for war. This prophetic call is found in Joel 3:9. This call is sent out, ‘proclaimed by the Prophet Joel, saying “Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles.” It is a call that heralds war and tells the ‘mighty men’ to wake up, to let ‘all men of war draw near’, and a time when the weak will say ‘I am strong.’ It is a supernatural Word, a prophetic Word that will gather the ‘heathen, nations’ to war. It will be a call that the people will be unable to resist. They will come up, they will prepare for war, they will have war. Joel tells them to ‘beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears.’
The Word must be spoken, out loud, as Joel did. It is put in the prophetic supernatural realm for a certain time to be fulfilled. This fulfillment is to be at the end of days when according to Isaiah 2:3 and Micah 4:2 says that the L-rd will ‘judge among the nations’, and shall ‘rebuke many people.’ The ultimate result of this will be a time when all of these people who made war will literally “beat their swords back into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.” This will be a time when the ‘nations shall not lift up sword against each other’, nor will they ‘learn war anymore.’ In short, the call is found in Joel 3:9, and the fulfillment of this is found in Isaiah 2:3 and Micah 4:2. All are just one aspect, howbeit, an important one of the end times in which you and I will see.
Joel 3:9 ¶Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
Isaiah 2:3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Micah 4:2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
This call to “prepare for war” has already gone out as when Joel first announced this prophetic word. Yet, for us today we can see this call being fulfilled. For us living today, there have been many signs of this call coming to fruition in the world. A call preparing us for the very end of all things.
For instance, let us look at some of the secular signs. John Mccain said in the Presidential race of 2008 that U.S. Troops could spend 100 years in a war!
“Republican presidential front-runner Sen. John McCain on Thursday defended his statement that U.S. troops could spend “maybe 100″ years in Iraq.”

Listen to what George Bush said laying the foundation of War. His vision was that America is the defender and will become involved in the effort worldwide.
George Bush said “It is clear that the future of freedom and peace depend on the actions of America. This nation is freedom’s home, and freedom’s defender. We welcome this charge of history, and we are keeping it. (Applause.) The war on terror continues. The enemies of freedom are not idle, and neither are we. This country will not rest, we will not stop, we will not tire, until this danger to civilization is removed. ” — Westin Convention Center Hotel, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania[3](12/2/03).
Now remember 9-11? Of course you do!
But would we consider this to be a hallmark of proving that this call to ‘war’ mentioned in Joel is the very beginning of this time period. If one talks about war, there have been many such wars. But Joel ties in ‘war’ and its call to a specific time period which will bring in the coming of the Son of G-d! It literally ties in ‘Jacobs trouble’, and the ‘Great tribulation’ to this call. So we can count out, I believe all wars from Vietnam back. The war we are talking about would not see 9-11 as the beginning, but as a fruit of the beginning prophetically. The call is tied to another important prophecy, that of the ‘red horse’ of the Apocalypse. This seal, which takes ‘peace from the earth’ so that men ‘should kill one another’ has already been opened. The exact timing is not important but no doubt that 9-11 is part and parcel of that great unsealing. It will always act as a beacon to show the time period when ‘men will kill’ one another and ‘peace shall be taken from the earth.’
The Red Horse:
Revelation 6:3 ¶And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
This war becomes a literal obsession in the nations. We can see that obsession as we move forward into the book of Revelation. Part of that obsession is the Islamic Jihad, which had a hand in 9-11. Another part of that is found in aggression against Israel by the Islamic nations, but also by other people groups who are now starting to side with Islam. Here we find America, the U.N., and Europe, who tend to swing against Israel. In the next series of paragraphs are excerpts from various sources on this Islamic obsession. Now to have war, you must have two sides. The other side of that war is found in the leadership of America and her allies against this jihad. But prophecy presents Israel being surrounded by her enemies. So with that, we also see in the end America will turn against Israel as well. It is already felt in Israel by many that Barack Obama is ‘anti Israel’ and in the end will turn against her. There are many players in the end time and we are not going to discuss them all here. But suffice it to say, the “obsessed war” is heating up.
The documentary “Obsession: Radical Islam’s War against the West”.
When “Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West,” a documentary that shows Muslims urging attacks on the United States and Europe, was screened recently at the University of California, Los Angeles, it drew an audience of more than 300 — and also dozens of protesters.

Catholic Church pushes for ‘Inter-Religious’ Dialogue
This is not about ‘religions’ contrary to the Catholic dialogue on ‘inter faith’ goals. Goals that have ‘one world religion’ written all over it! At the head of this push is the Catholic church.
Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, head of the Pontifical Council for Inter-Religious Dialogue, said that the Church “has to have regard for all religions” and that the West’s fascination with Islam was putting inter-faith dialogue at risk. The 1996 Report on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare:
A report was released in December 1996 by The U.S. House of Representatives’ Task Force On Terrorism And Unconventional Warfare. It was entitled, ‘Approaching the New Cycle of Arab-Israeli Fighting’. In brief [p 43 of this report], tells us that such nations as Syria, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, and Egypt are planning and building for a final, devastating war of annihilation against Israel. This includes acquiring nuclear, biological and chemical weapons (NBC) in a mix with conventional weapons, e.g. tanks, aircraft, and soldiers, all in massive, overwhelming numbers.”

“Jihadi Romeos” are on a mission to ensnare Indian girls in terror activities. The sweethearts, recruits of Pakistani-sponsored terrorist organizations, promise marriage to innocent Indian girls if they convert to Islam. Islamic ‘Boy Scouts’ prepared for Jihad in America!
Islamic Paramilitary boys group that is supposed to mirror the ‘Boy Scouts of America’. The difference is striking. For while the ‘Boy Scouts’ earn merit badges, make fire, and learn out of doors survival, the Jawala Scouts are different. The picture on the article revealed little boys dressed up in green camo fatigues and looking more like something you would see in the middle east than on American streets. In short, whether they admit it, the preparation is for war, jihad, and islamic efforts to take over America in parts or all together!
The children joining Jawala Scouts are as young as seven years of age. This is disconcerting, when considering some of the activities of the group, which include hand-to-hand combat, firearms training and survival tactics. Photographs from the group’s official website show the kids dressed in military fatigues, hiking through the woods, and engaged in wrestling.
What makes things worse are the type of individuals linked to Jawala Scouts. One is Carlin Saafir, the Legal Officer and 1st Lieutenant of the scouts. Saafir is also the President of UMM, a member of the UMM Masjid’s Board of Directors (General Council), and the Joint Community Outreach Chair of the Philadelphia office of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), an entity affiliated with the terrorist organization Hamas. The above are just a few examples of the heated obsession that is taking over the nations. What’s more, America is no different. We have had our own atrocities at times, killing innocent civilians in War, for instance in the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. When going to war, the current President Bush warned us of a long war. McCain repeated his sentiments when he spoke of a “100 year war-see quote above at start of this article.” I have met fine Muslim families. I have purchased goods from them, talked to them about Abraham and Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, this war is coming. There will be sides. There will be war, death, famine, plagues, pestilence, economic chaos, and more!
The Black Horse:
The third seal: This is a black horse, with the one that sat upon him having a pair of balances.
This seal speaks of tremendous economic chaos upon the earth. One we can see now, but the question is, has this seal been opened yet? I cannot say, but you can be sure that the economic chaos which many of us have been warning and seeing the signs approaching is the mainstay of this third seal. One that will envelop the earth. It also speaks directly to ‘a denarius’ which was a days wages then. It is this where many have said, working all day for a loaf of bread. The situation here is inflation, and this is seen today in America and the world as hyper inflation. One that we have seen and reported the signs approaching of for some time. Many also see this as being limited in scope and not a huge world wide famine. Nevertheless, these will increase as the tribulation does in intensity. As wars increase then plagues, pestilence, crop failures, and more increase. When men war instead of plow the fields there are no crops. No crops, no harvest, and no food! In this it says, hurt not the ‘oil and the wine.’ Some see this as luxury items being available during this time of economic breakdown.
Furthermore in this seal I see in the ‘oil, representing the Spirit of God, and the wine representing the blood shed, the new wine in new wine skins.’ I believe there is a place for those who as believers trust in the L-rd and will see deliverance. As believers we must trust in the L-rd, and keep his commandments, walking in his ways, then we can believe and trust G-d for deliverance and provision during these times. Disobedience during these times will bring non provision! This will be the time when ‘judgment will strike the house of G-d’ in its fullness. It is also a time when people will become offended in the L-rd G-d because they see him failing them. G-d will be testing the hearts of men and women. Whether we like this or not, it will occur.
Revelation 6:5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
The pale horse:
This horse is seen as a pale, yellowish green horse, which brings pestilence and plagues that follow war. Death and Hell rode on this horse. They had power over the fourth part of the earth, which is viewed as limited in scope. Only on a fourth part of the earth did the they kill with the sword [war], and with hunger [famine], and with death [plagues, diseases, sickness], and with beasts of the earth [nature rises up against man, but also in this is seen death by animal virus and disease that strikes mankind, example bird flu, swine flu, ect].
Revelation 6:7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
There are those who place these seals, i.e. the ‘horsemen of the apocalypse’, in the ‘beginning of sorrows’ found in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21! This could be, for when we get into the midst of the tribulation, things really heat up! The situation is, it represents only the ‘beginning’ of the ‘sorrows to come’. The ‘sorrows’ will encompass the entire earth! The timing really does not matter. For we are to look up, for our redemption draws nigh!
The call to the Remnant believers:
I give you some scriptures for the believers, I call these ‘marching orders’.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
