Before this was the character Nero looking crazy or mad, smiling while enjoying his music. Of course this was Hollywood’s version. The truth is, many believe when Rome was on fire, Nero saw to it that the deed were done so he could rebuild the city and name it after himself. Many also believe he was indeed playing such an instrument as the city burned.

Increase in cancer, blood disorders blamed on 9-11 toxicity

More than 360 workers who dealt with the aftermath of the World Trade Center disaster are known to have died, New York health officials said in May. Of the more than 600 diagnosed with cancer (other than blood cancer), 80 are included in the death count. Other deaths were traced to blood cancers and heart and circulatory diseases. Five ex-workers committed suicide, said Kitty Gelberg, who is tracking the deaths for the state’s World Trade Center Responder Fatality Investigation Program.

Officials have determined the cause of death of 154 of the responders and volunteers who toiled at Ground Zero, the blocks nearby and at the Fresh Kills landfill, where debris from the site was taken. “It’s the tip of the iceberg,” said David Worby, who is representing 10,000 workers who say they got sick after working on rescue and recovery efforts.

“These statistics bear out how toxic that site was, Worby said. Most of the deadly tumors were in the lungs and digestive system, according to the tally from the state’s program. Ms. Gelberg said she had not yet determined whether the number of cancer deaths was more or less than those typically occurring in men in their 20s to 50s who work as cops, firefighters or laborers—the majority of 9-11 workers.

“We are not saying all of these deaths are World Trade Center-related,” she said, not yet ready to make that determination without the statistics.

She added that relatives of people who died of cancer may be likely to link their loved one’s death to their 9-11 work and add them to the database, despite other possible factors. Ms. Gelberg said she is compiling the deaths from public sources, individuals and agencies and believes there is an overall undercount of workers who have died. The statistics cover Sept. 12, 2001, through May 1, 2008.

The city Health Department said it was actively examining whether deaths have been elevated as a result of 9-11. Last year, the head of Mount Sinai Medical Center’s monitoring and treatment program, Dr. Robin Herbert, predicted a “third wave” of 9-11-related deaths from cancer.

“We know people were exposed to carcinogens. There was benzene, dioxin, asbestos,” said her colleague Dr. Philip Landrigan. “There’s reason to be concerned, so we’re engaged in watchful waiting. So far, there’s no excess.”

Cathy Murray, whose husband, Fire Lt. John Murray, died of colon cancer April 30, “absolutely” connects his disease to his work at Ground Zero. He was diagnosed in June and was 52 when he died, she said. An FDNY spokesman couldn’t immediately say where or when Murray performed 9-11-related duty, but a department letter confirms that he spent at least 40 hours at World Trade Center-designated work sites.

“He was perfectly healthy,” said Cathy Murray, 53, of Staten Island. “He never smoked a day in his life, and neither did I. It happened so quick and [was] so aggressive. He was responding [to therapy] at first, but then he wasn’t,” she added. “And now he’s gone.”

Celia Correa, 58, has lung disease and a host of other medical problems that she believes are connected to her exposure to the World Trade Center dust after 9-11. She and other activists recently held a forum about 9-11 health on a Sunday afternoon. Residents, workers and students spoke about their continuing health problems following 9-11. Doctors talked about the 9-11-related illnesses they have seen and told people where they can go for treatment.

“More and more of us are developing more and more illnesses and conditions, but they’re not being linked to 9-11,” Ms. Correa said.

“These medical problems take a toll on your body slowly, and finally it erupts.” One goal of the event was to spread the word about the WTC Environmental Health Center, which offers free treatment to anyone with 9-11-related health problems. Staff from the center registered attendees for intake exams at Bellevue Hospital, Gouverneur Healthcare Services on the Lower East Side and Elmhurst Hospital in Queens.

Laine Romero-Alston, director of research and policy for the Urban Justice Center, one of the organizers, saw the event as an opportunity to spread the word about the free healthcare to those in the city and elsewhere who are unaware of the program

“There’s a serious health crisis related to 9-11,” Ms. Romero-Alston said. “Doctors don’t know what’s going on. What was initially all respiratory, is not all respiratory now.”

She said doctors are now seeing increasing numbers of cancer cases and blood diseases in those exposed to 9-11 contaminants, along with more complaints about skin, digestive and gynecological problems.

Ms. Correa said she has experienced a progression of symptoms. She worked as an administrative assistant in the WTC ruins area from October 2001 until July 2004. She helped clean an office and worked at a desk directly beneath an air vent. The dust from 9-11 was literally part of the air she breathed, she said. She developed lung disease, chronic asthma and bronchitis, respiratory problems that some doctors have linked to 9-11. But she also noticed a number of other health problems, which she didn’t initially connect to her exposure. She developed acid reflux, vertigo, muscle aches, hemorrhaging and a rash that doctors couldn’t diagnose.

No longer able to work, Ms. Correa was left without health insurance and had to declare bankruptcy. The activists also called on the federal government to provide funding for 9-11-related healthcare and research.

“They’re not doing anything about it,” Ms. Correa said. “We don’t understand why the government doesn’t want to acknowledge us.”

She wants a guarantee of lifelong workers compensation and subsidized healthcare. “We don’t know, ultimately, what the full health fallout is, or what it will be in five, 10 years,” Ms. Romero-Alston added. “There needs to be long-term federal response for all those affected.”

Hurricane Gustave rolled into history this week as the Republicans were all planning on taking the Twin Cities in Minnesota by storm. Literally, but the plans were laid back while the Republican Governors all went south to meet the Hurricane head on. The total economic impact by the Republican gathering was estimated to be 150 to 160 million. Now that’s no small change, seems like conventions make money and the fact that the GOP express plan on filling the 20,000 seat Excel center is no small matter.

 

With Storms interrupting the convention plans, and a rebellion going on, what’s a republican to do? That was definitely on some minds as the Ron Paul Revolution took over with 12,000 plus disillusioned Republicans and independents who converged on the Target Center in the Twin Cities as well. It was there that the boisterous, loud, chanting of FREEEEE-DOM Rolled out on the tongues of those gathered. From the likes of this NBA basketball arena the Revolution gained steam until the climax with the leader of the Pack, Ron Paul himself. Paul who openly has challenged both the democrats and republicans alike stood tall and listened to the RON PAUL chanting in the crowd when they greeted him.

Speakers such as Jesse Ventura, Lew Rockwell, Doug Wead, and others brought the meeting to its heights as music also rang out to highlight the twin convention in the Twin Cities. Barry Goldwater Jr. introduced Ron Paul who came to the podium and spoke for about an hour with numerous interruptions from cheering Revolutionaries.

 

This night was about the Constitution; even Ron Paul would tell you that. It was about the first, second, third, fourth, fifth amendments and the others. It was about the Patriots who clearly distinguished themselves and what they believed when they challenged the rule and might of King George of England. Yes it was about all this and more. What’s more, it was about the modern day American Patriots who gathered to hear Ron Paul and the litany of speakers. The very ones who would tell them how to turn the nation they once knew back into the Republic it once was. In all it was a celebration of Freedom. It was about the Neo-Cons and the empire they are trying to build. It was about Ron Paul who said that if he was President it wasn’t about what he would do in office, but those things he wouldn’t do. The constitution doesn’t allow me to do these things, Paul said when going through the list. He could not and would not be a global empire builder and make wars. He would not take away the peoples rights and trash the freedoms guaranteed under the constitution. He would not continue the ill regarded Fed and its house of cards. The cheering was at its peak by now, Paul looked around, smiling. This was his crowd, his day, and his message had gotten out. Ron Paul stood as a man in the government opposed to the many things it was doing wrong, but now however, beside him were thousands. Everyone one of them convinced they were right, they were Patriots, and they were going to change things. America was going to hear them. Paul warned them that they must begin now. Speaking from his heart and not from a memoranda of quotes, Paul described an America that once was a Republic but now its future as a Republic was bleak. Describing the trend of the current democracy to tear apart the constitutional ideals by more spending, taxes, rules, inflation, and militarism, it was quite clear America, the Republic is in trouble. I remember the Phrase “and the Republic for which it stands.” Last night the Republic was standing again, and it was being raised as the titanic from the depths of despair. It was shaky though, but it rose up, to tell all those listening that what Ron Paul was saying was this; “the tyranny must be reversed or the grand experiment of the American Republic will end.” [Italics phrase in part from http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog/?p=432]

It was also clear that the themes of Patriotism were a clear point to get across. I have maintained that the Patriots who signed the Declaration of Independence were radicals and ones who not only would oppose the current status quo, but would fight it. They would lay all on the line for what they believed. Last night Ron Paul made the clarion call to those listening to understand Patriotism. For the record, a Patriot is not one who will go and fight battles of war for the government just because the government wants them too. It is all too often available, the use of young men and women to foment the goals of any current administration. This is not saying anything against those who do and have gone to battle in war. The reality here is defending the constitutional truths, the ideals, and freedoms for which they stand.

The theme of Patriotism was also closely linked to two other important points. One was national sovereignty and the other was peaceful resistance to bring about change. Paul has been on the forefront opposing the International Court in The Hague, the UN, the IMF, the World Bank, the WTO, NAFTA, CAFTA, NAU, and the European Union. The Words today known in many circles as the New World Order has been replaced by those creating the agenda for the elite. The phrase today is Globalism. It doesn’t have any place for national identity or individualism. This is what Ron Paul warns us all about. Last night amid applause, he staunchly told those who would hear, we don’t have much time. He was worried, Paul said “of the American militarism.” There is no doubt Paul believed if we continued to follow this course, then ruin would follow. He further challenged the listeners. Now all these people could understand and know what was going on. Because they did understand Paul said “you have a responsibility to do something.” As Paul moved toward the real trouble, he touched on another important point, that of Martin Luther King’s strategy, which was ‘peaceful civil disobedience.’ Paul stresses the point of the constitution being used to restrain the government and not the people. To move the government and the nation, non violent means must be used to bring the message to the masses. Below is an excerpt of Ron Paul’s comments on this.

 

The Constitution must once again be used as an instrument to restrain the government, not the people. Creative energy must be allowed to thrive without the heavy hand of government monitoring every move. [IBID]

Though we preach non-violence, our opponents who feel threatened, will not hesitate to use force against us. Since the opposition is the state, using the armed might of government to stifle our effort should not surprise us. Recent changes in the law voiding protection of our civil liberties since 9/11, make it quite convenient for hostile government agents to undermine our right to speak out and protest. [IBID]

 

The question of civil disobedience is of great importance. I personally don’t want to participate in any acts of violence or set the stage where violence will easily break out. But we’re nearing the point where all of us who are struggling to bring about change will have to make a decision regarding civil disobedience. [IBID]

There is no doubt the fire was lit in the lives of thousands. The one with the torch was Ron Paul and all those who stood on the podium to ignite the flame of the Republic once again. Ron Paul, in his own words said this “We’re here today to send a message, not just to the Republican Party, not just to the politicians in power, but to the whole country, and possibly the entire world.” He did just that.

After the speech the crowd was standing cheering, yelling, and celebrating the victory of the night. It was a demonstration of what our forefathers wrote in the constitution. It was a night of a free public gathering where freedom of speech was initiated and the thoughts of many united in a theme to bring about change. The elitist power brokers want the change and control they have initiated. They will stop at nothing to destroy this ideal and flame of liberty. There is no difference here between the Chinese standing against the tanks in Tiananmen Square and those who stood, howbeit briefly with Ron Paul for the Revolution.

Ron Paul once again speaks saying “the power brokers are convinced they can maintain control with no serious challenge. They have it wrong. We will challenge them on all fronts—in every state and at all levels of government. First of all, the philosophic revolution will propel the political revolution. The educational effort will spread the message of the Freedom Philosophy. Individual liberty must be our goal. Prosperity and peace will follow. Without liberty, peace and prosperity are unachievable.” [IBID]

As I was watching the events, the channel turned abruptly, it was over. The roaring mob of chanting Revolutionaries saying ‘FREE-DOM’ and RON – PAUL ended. Immediately the scene was on the Republican convention. C-Span had changed the coverage. As I watched I saw an older veteran in his eighties, I suppose, with a blue VFW cap on. He was yawning, the camera turned to view the audience. The whole scene was orderly, fairly quiet, except for a speaker. No shouting, no loud noise, just a listener yawning. The pumping adrenalin in my system seemed to slow down, as if on idle. This place was no match for what I had just heard. From Revolution to status quo, from change to complacency, from Patriotism based on Constitutionality to the idea that freedom as we know it is not all its cracked up to be. Yes, the light had been lit this night, but how many would really follow through? Time would tell. Do we have time to change it? Can we start today? How much peaceful resistance must we do to bring us back to the constitution and the republic? Thoughts continued to race in my head. I turned off the light, thinking to myself that ‘sleep would be good tonight, tomorrows another day.’ See you on the rebound, my friend. See you in the New Republic; the Constitutional agenda has been set. Have you understood this?

Dumitru Duduman Warnings Testimony

Dumitru Duduman was born to George and Escaterina Duduman on July 14, 1932 in Hintesti, Romania. His native village is situated in the northeastern part of Romania near the Russian border. Here Dumitru was brought up in the knowledge of God by his parents, but most of all from his grandfather, Costache, whom he loved deeply. He grew accustomed to religious persecution at a very young age seeing his father and older brother, Costache, put in prison for their beliefs. Although the rest of the family had not been arrested, they were ordered to hard labor in the Communist farmland projects.

Even though Dumitru had been brought up in a Christian home, by the age of fourteen he had started wandering from God. At the age of seventeen he rebelled and joined the Romanian army. His rejection of God saddened his parents greatly and for many months they prayed for him continually. Dumitru spent the first eight months of his army career in the Chitila boot camp. Even today this boot camp is well known for it’s harsh treatment of new recruits. After finishing boot camp, Dumitru was one of few soldiers chosen to go on to the Constanta Military School. He started in Constanta in 1951 and stayed there four and one half years. Upon his graduation, Dumitru received a diploma and was given the rank of Lieutenant in the Marines. Soon he had eighty men under his command.

In 1984, after years of intense persecution, a Romanian evangelist, Dumitru Duduman, was thrown out of his country for smuggling Bibles into Romania
and Russia. With the help of the American Consulate, Dumitru and his family came to America.

Ed & Lorraine Brown Years in Jail

In plain and simple language, the Editor has seen good American people destroyed by this Government over the years. For a free nation, we have more in our prisons than any other nation or so I believe from the reports! Nonetheless, whether we do or not, the case for individual rights and liberties are brought to nothing when this government believes you are violating one of its many laws, which, it passes by dark regulators in dark corridors in the dark of night, in the darkened part of Washington where no light is!

The public for the most part have no clue at all the trouble with the events concerning the following: Randy Weaver, Waco, Ed and Lorraine Brown, and others; that have met with the heavy Black booted tactics of our Government against its own citizens. There seems to be no more friendly helpful police, it has become an era of those in Law who are the New World enforcers for those in our Government.

Make sure that this attitude will come back to each of you in this nation and you will one day understand the violations of rights of citizens in this nation. From the Government’s standpoint this seems to be not about law and order, but ‘how dare they’. There is no other reason than this for these enforcers to bring in Tanks, sharp shooters, snipers, bombs, bullets, and the whole army of police for a few of its citizens. They want to stamp it out! But on their part, this evil will be met directly by more who will meet their aggressiveness with the same brute force. I do not condone violence but the government is bringing it on themselves. It won’t come from my quarter, but one day, it will be met by the same force. It is about total control and to bring the population under control, as in many scenarios, the people are the last to see it coming! But it will! To a Neighborhood near to you!

EDWARD AND ELAINE BROWN CONVICTED

CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE: Acting United States Attorney Michael J. Gunnison and United States Marshal Stephen Monier announced that a federal jury convicted Edward Brown and Elaine Brown of Plainfield, NH on the following obstruction and weapons-related charges following a 7-day trial:

• conspiracy to prevent by force, intimidation or threats officers of the United States from discharging their duties in carrying out the arrests of Edward Brown and Elaine Brown (Count One);

• conspiracy to forcibly resist and impede federal law enforcement officers in the discharge of their duties in carrying out the arrests of Edward Brown and Elaine Brown by means including the use of dangerous and deadly weapons (Count Two);

• carrying and possessing firearms and destructive devices in connection with and in furtherance of crimes of violence (Counts Three, Four);

• possession of firearms after having been convicted of a felony (Counts Five, Six);

• obstruction of justice (Counts Seven, Eight);

• failure to appear for trial (Count Nine – Edward Brown only);

• failure to appear for sentencing in April 2007 following their convictions on tax and other charges in U.S. District Court in January 2007 (Counts Ten, Eleven).

U.S. District Judge George Z. Singal scheduled a sentencing hearing for September 3, 2009.

On January 21, 2009, a federal grand jury indicted Edward and Elaine Brown on multiple obstruction and weapons-related charges. The indictment alleged criminal conduct which began in January 2007 during the

Browns’ federal criminal trial on tax and other financial charges. The indictment detailed how the Browns obstructed justice, conspired to forcibly resist arrest, and possessed firearms and destructive devices at their heavily-fortified compound in Plainfield, NH until an undercover team of Deputy U.S. Marshals arrested them at their home on October 4, 2007.

The evidence at trial included testimony of officials including the United States Marshal and Deputy United States Marshals who participated in the effort to take Edward and Elaine Brown into custody after Edward Brown failed to appear for his January 2007 trial, and after both Edward and Elaine Brown violated their bail conditions and failed to appear in Court for their sentencing hearings on April 24, 2007. The Browns were each sentenced in absentia on that date to 63 months in prison on the financial charges.

During the during the Summer and Fall of 2007, the Browns remained at their Plainfield compound, where they received supporters, issued militant and threatening statements, and stockpiled weapons and explosives until their October arrest. As detailed at trial, these included pipe bombs, improvised explosive devices made of gun powder cans with nails and screws taped to the outside, and a large assortment of handguns and rifles, including extremely powerful .50 caliber rifles.

Some of the Browns’ supporters were also charged with weapons offenses and other charges relating to the standoff at the Plainfield compound. Jason Gerhard of Brookhaven, New York and Daniel Riley of Cohoes New York were convicted of charges including using and possessing a firearm and a destructive device in connection with a crime of violence. Gerhard was sentenced to a prison term of 20 years, and Riley to a prison term of 36 years. Additionally, Cirino Gonzalez of Alice, Texas was convicted of conspiring to forcibly interfere with the U.S. Marshals Service’s efforts to arrest the Browns, and was sentenced to 8 years in prison.

Each of the charges on which the Browns were convicted today carry the following maximum penalties: Count One – 6 years; Count Two- 8 years; Counts Three and Four – life [mandatory 30 years minimum] ; Counts Five and Six – 10 years; Counts Seven and Eight – 10 years; Count Nine – 5 years; Counts Ten and Eleven – 5 years.

Commenting on the verdict, Acting U.S. Attorney Michael J. Gunnison stated: “Today’s verdict affirms that no one is above the law. By rejecting the rule of law, and substituting a personal code involving weapons, explosives and threats, the defendants committed increasingly serious crimes. This case was investigated by the United States Marshals Service with substantial assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, the Internal Revenue Service, the New Hampshire State Police, the Plainfield, NH Police Department, Lebanon, NH Police Department, and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Arnold H. Huftalen and Terry Ollila.
