land of shadows

When chaos assumes the mortal coil of the living land of America, what shall we do? To whom will we go? Over the land known as America stand so many voices, so many thoughts, so many agendas. Yet, what will stand. Upon the land, this land, where so many voices speak from the dark shadows of America what will you hear today? So this day finds you in the “land of shadows” pondering this question, “who is telling the truth”? Also accompanying this question is another, “where do I find peace amidst such chaos’”?

For the first part of 2009 there has been a takeover of America. It is a very subtle one. One that many have failed to see coming and in fact actually helped to bring it on this land. In the Land of Shadows there is a smiling face, one that has put the nation in a trance and forwards a radical agenda to transform America. Behind the smile, white teeth, and smooth ways is a voice crying out for change. It is that cry that brought America to its feet. The slogan of “change”. Yes, it is the current President Barack Obama. It is an agenda that Americans right now are not even aware of, unless you are awake to the coiled strike of the cobra of death that awaits the land of the former free.

You are a nation in debt oh “land of shadows”. The money is being piled high upon the gravestones of the successful companies who now are in the garbage heap of history. I need not go into detail on this for you know very well that the debt is so far gone that to say ten or twelve trillion is a figure way beyond most Americans concept. The truth here is, it cannot go on. The dollar will fail, the economy will fall, and Americans, their wealth, and status in the world will vanish into the world abyss of the New World order.  In Obama’s first 100 days he has brought America into more debt than at anytime in our history. Oh they say its for a good cause and everything is fine, but reality check, sooner or later it all will catch up with this people.

I am reminded right now of the press conference of the 100 celebration of our President Obama. As I watched and listened, the image of this man was one of a smooth, assured character who speaks to those around him. One who is control of his Press conference. One who takes only 13 questions in an hour and expands on them so there is no follow ups. One who knows the media is in short supply of true old fashioned hard nosed journalists who dig at answers to get the truth. Today, sadly, the media at the event were a group of metro-sexual Obama followers who have a love affair with this President.  He has a gift, a knack, the ability to smoothly talk and convince you he is on your side, even if his agenda is so far left you would be shocked to actually know what he is going to do!

If  you speak out, are you a racist? If you stand on biblical commands and reject gay marriage and sodomy are you a racist and a hater? If you stand on biblical commands for sanctity of life and reject abortion are you a racist and hater? If you stand on a platform of God fearing decency, holiness, and the commandments of God are you an outcast? The answer to these is yes. Right now as the fear of Swine flu is sweeping the airwaves and everyone from Alex Jones to the mainstream media broadcasts the news of its status, America is tilting on its foundation.

Well the bill has been passed the house. It is the “hate crimes prevention act”. Sounds good doesn’t it? Everyone is against hate crimes, that is until you understand that the hate crimes this bill is against includes any words or actions against homosexuals or their attempts to get married. It also includes 30 other sexual orientations. It follows the world legislative bodies of the U. K., Canada, Denmark, and many others who now openly throw Pastors or anyone else in jail, bring them before the court, or fine them for Biblical words from the bible that condemns sodomy.  This is the bill that many feel would silence most radio shows, television shows, and the Internet as well. For if you spoke against anything included in this bill, you will find yourself in jail. Again, along with homosexuality, this bill protects some 30 classes of sexual orientation in all.

The trouble is to protect a “sexual orientation” under H. R. 1913 – while leaving that term undefined — is to protect this whole range of bizarre sexual behaviors. At the same time it would be illegal for anyone to speak out against this as it would be described as a hate crime. Thus preaching against homosexuality or any number of these said sexual deviancies would be considered illegal and a hate crime. Also to consider would be if a Pastor refused to marry a gay or lesbian couple he could face fines and/or jail time.

Congress is set to give legally protected status to 30 sexual orientations, including incest.  Because of pressure from homosexual groups, Congress has refused to define what is meant by sexual orientation in H. R. 1913, the “Hate Crimes” bill. This means that the 30 different sexual orientations will be federally protected classes.{AFA notice, American Family Association notice on H. R. 1913, April 2009}

Tom Strode of the Baptist Press, however, reports that H. R. 1913 “adds ‘sexual orientation’ and ‘gender identity’ to the current classes – including race, religion and national origin – protected from hate crimes,” a measure that worries many people of faiths that deem LGBT sexual behavior as immoral.

Now in America we have gone one step further than event the bible describes. It is homosexual marriage. There is no place in the bible that says homosexuals got married. But in America, now, we are pushing this abomination and calling it good! Recently in one of his emails David Wilkerson wrote the following:

Massachusetts has legalized gay marriages, and hundreds have gotten married illegally in San Francisco. I was so deeply grieved at this lawlessness and mockery of true, God-ordained marriage, I cried, “Oh, Lord, they are stealing our nation. They are mocking your holy Word. America is now indulging in a sin not even known in Sodom and Gomorrah. There is no biblical record of gays marrying in those wicked societies.” [David Wilkerson, April 29th, 2009]

Obama’s agenda includes the Gay agenda and it is moving at breakneck speed. He also Lifted the Bush restrictions on federally funded embryonic stem cell research. Obama passed the “largest” economic stimulus bill in American history. He also sent 21,000 additional troops to Afghanistan as well as planning on keeping the war in Iraq going for awhile anyway. He plans to add on a carbon tax, continue to restructure a national health care plan, push for more taxes, and bring in the liberal left wing agenda of Nancy Polossi and Harry Reid. And yes, he plans on trying to get out of the social agenda of buying into major banks, car companies, and pumping more fiat currency into the system. There are even more radical left wing agendas in store for America and its people.
Moreover, this land is under and has been under a curse. It has rejected the LORD God and turned from his ways. This land follows abominations and embraces homosexuality, lesbianism, and will not relent on Abortion. The churches continue, many anyway to embrace this system, its president, and the ways of the harlot all the while denying any judgment coming. They soothe the congregations by saying that these ‘carnal mammon soaked believers’ will be taken away to safety in a Rapture, ‘So don’t worry’ say these backslidden churches and pastors. The truth is, many will see this come and will also wonder why they were lied too! The truth also is here:

The words the Prophet Isaiah spoke to Israel applies to our nation, its believers, and the whole land!

Isaiah 66:4  I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

The words of the Prophet Jeremiah spoken to Israel applies to our churches, pastors, evangelists, and believers as well. Along with them is the rest who are in darkness for when this comes it will fall upon all on this land. The land of shadows will see death and destruction.

Jeremiah 8:9  The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?
10  Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.
11  For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
12  Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
13  ¶I will surely consume them, saith the LORD: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.
14  Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.
15  We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble!

If you look for peace in America, you will not find it. There will be brief periods of respite, but these judgments will continue to worsen as we go on, until the finality of it all upon the land of shadows. You will not find it in security, social security, retirement, money, America, doctors, the government, or anything man made idol. There is coming and is now here in part, but will reveal itself in its fullness, a calamity and chaos so severe that the hearts of men will fail them for fear. You heard of the phrase ‘scared to death’, well that is what we are talking about. Events so horrific and earth shattering that the lives of Americans will be turned into chaos.

As a believer, stand your ground in faith and lookup, your redemption draws close. The Lord told us all these things would occur in the last days. Be found in him, nowhere else.

Luke 21:28  And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

You have been appointed to salvation, not to wrath.
However, we may go through trials and even tribulation here on earth as we walk in Him.

1 Thessalonians 5:9  For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Acts 14:22  Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
Romans 8:35  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36  As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
2 Corinthians 1:4  Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Jesus said himself in John 14:15  ”If ye love me, keep my commandments.” That is what we must do! Revelation backs this up by saying we must have the testimony and the faith of Jesus Christ while we keep the commandments of God. Let us be found in him, if we say we love Jesus, let us do as he says we must!

Revelation 12:11  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Revelation 12:17  And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 14:12  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

The only truth, the only comfort, the only fellowship you will know the will bring you true peace and joy is in the LORD. For the LORD said:

John 16:33  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 14:27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

We have an article that contains descriptions of sexual orientations as listed by the American Psychiatric Association.  Caution is given here!

The Hate crimes prevention act, HR-1913 has passed the House and is headed for the senate. There are 30 sexual orientations protected by this trashy legislation.
You will find the list at the end of this article here: H.R. 1913, Sexual Orientation Bill

Rising of Militant Homosexuality Debate

I also call your attention to the column by Maggie Gallagher (2nd article below), who exposes the chief aim of homosexual activists these days: demonizing Christians and anyone who opposes “gay marriage” and the larger homosexual agenda as the moral equivalent of racists. Our long-term goal must be the repeal of all “sexual orientation” laws because such laws are the foundation for a larger agenda that includes the criminalization of Christianity as it applies to this moral issue. God bless . — Peter LaBarbera, www.americansfortruth.org

Gay marriage is about more than Adam and Steve

Mocking Marriage: “Grey’s Anatomy” star T.R. Knight (left), 35, with his 19-year-old boyfriend, Mark Cornelson. Knight says “it’s very important to honor marriage,” and is happy he now can “marry” in California. Here at AFTAH, we believe this relationship can never “honor marriage” because it cannot be marriage. Maggie Gallagher writes that the “same-sex marriage” movement is all about demonizing critics of homosexuality (mostly people of faith) as the moral equivalent of racists.

“Here’s the conclusion I’ve come to after four-plus years of active participation in the same-sex-”marriage” debate: Gay “marriage” is not primarily about marriage. It’s also not about Adam and Steve and their personal practical legal needs. It is about inserting into the law the principle that “gay is the new black” — that sexual orientation should be treated exactly the same way we treat race in law and culture.” – Maggie Gallagher

We commend this incisive essay on the California “gay marriage” question by Maggie Gallagher, a national leader on the issue. We’ve taken the liberty of adding quote marks around “marriage” and “wedding,” as in same-sex “marriage,” in our ongoing attempt to preserve the real meaning of words. Below are excerpts; the essay can be read in full on National Review HERE.

By Maggie Gallagher

Today [June 17], California same-sex couples are rushing to the altar. But this November, California voters will have their chance to say “I do” or “I do not” to gay marriage.

In the meantime, what have we learned about what gay “marriage” will mean for gays, for marriage, and for the wider society? In just the last few months, a newly confident same-sex-”marriage” movement is becoming more open and revealing about the answers.

The New York Times, of all places, gave us a glimpse in its front-page story this past Sunday, “Gay Couples Find Marriage Is a Mixed Bag.” What can we tentatively conclude? First, the conservative case for same-sex “marriage” is looking pretty tattered.

Same-sex “marriages” are tailing off rapidly, after what the New York Times describes as “an initial euphoric rush to the altar.” In Massachusetts, that rush included residents of other states – as indicated by the New York Times headline of May 18, 2004: “Despite Uncertainties, Out-of-Staters Line Up to Marry.” The latest data indicate that 867 gay “weddings” took place in Massachusetts in the first eight months of 2007, down from 6,121 gay “weddings” in the first six months of 2004.

This is the same pattern seen in other jurisdictions where same-sex “marriage” has been allowed. A 2006 report The Demand for Same-Sex ‘Marriage’, released by the Institute for Marriage and Public Policy (where I am president), looked at every nation and Canadian province that had same-sex “marriage” and concluded: “Trend data is extremely limited, but the available data suggest that the number of gay “marriages” tends to decrease after an initial burst (reflecting pent up demand).”

Second, many gay “married” couples reject “heteronormative” assumptions about marriage, and they (as well as the New York Times) are becoming remarkably more open about this.

When Andrew Sullivan tentatively suggested in the early Nineties that gay couples have a thing or two to teach heterosexuals about the rigid presumption of sexual fidelity, the public outcry lead him to recant (and today, he gets mad at you if you point out that he actually did say it).

Less than a decade later, Eric Erbelding from the perch of his legally recognized Massachusetts gay marriage, is quite comfortable explaining to the New York Times that “Our rule is you can play around because, you know, you have to be practical.”

Eric elaborates why he think it works for gay men: “I think men view sex very differently than women. Men are pigs, they know that each other are pigs, so they can operate accordingly. It doesn’t mean anything.”

Still, Mr. Erbelding said, in what to the old-fashioned ear is the most astonishing single sentence in the whole piece: most married gay couples he knows are “for the most part monogamous, but for maybe a casual three-way.”

For the most part . . . except for the casual three-way?

But hey, if the word “marriage” can be redefined as a civil-rights imperative, why balk at lesser ideas like “monogamy” or “fidelity”?

I am in no position to confirm or deny Mr. Erbelding’s judgment about what the men he knows in gay marriages do. But David Benkof, a gay columnist who gave up sex with men when he adopted a Torah-observant lifestyle, recently made the same point in his intellectually fecund new website Gays Defend Marriage.

Problematic kinds of relationships that are “commonly found in the LGBT community but virtually unheard of among opposite-sex couples” Benkof warns, “will have every right to use the word marriage.”

He goes on to point out these differences: “I have never been at a soiree with multiple straight “committed” couples in which someone suggests we take off our clothes and see what happens, but I’m sad to say it’s happened with gay friends in long-term relationships. Of course, I know, many men cheat on their wives. But they almost never define their marriage as something that accommodates adultery.”

What about polygamy? Is that the natural next step? …

The Washington Blade, one of the nation’s leading gay newspapers, took up this question more thoughtfully than I do in its June 6 issue. The experts they consulted are somewhat divided on the question. But Prof. Jonathan Turley, for one, calls on gay-marriage advocates to make a clean breast of what the new “right-to-marry” principle means: Adult polygamists who “do not believe in child brides,” he told the paper, should be allowed to formalize their relationships.

“I don’t like polygamy but that’s not what’s important here,” Prof. Turley said. “[T]here will have to be a new definition of marriage because it’s disingenuous to say that gays and lesbians should be included in marriage but then for them to exclude others.” …

I don’t know how the polygamy debate will end up. But if fidelity in marriage is culturally optional, and we’ve now got a fundamental human right to have the government confer dignity on all our family choices (which is what California supreme court ruled), the case for monogamy will surely be weakened as well.

But don’t worry: By the time it happens, culture will have shifted far enough that you won’t care anymore. That’s the progressives’ promise.

And the newly resurgent cultural liberalism we face has no compunctions about using the law to impose its morality on the rest of us….

What about the next step: “Could churches in time risk their tax-exempt status by refusing to marry gays?”

Here’s the official answer from a leading gay paper, “That remains to be seen and will likely result in a steady stream of court battles.” Are those the same courts that decided same-sex marriage is a constitutional right? …

Here’s the conclusion I’ve come to after four-plus years of active participation in the same-sex-”marriage” debate: Gay “marriage” is not primarily about marriage. It’s also not about Adam and Steve and their personal practical legal needs.

It is about inserting into the law the principle that “gay is the new black” — that sexual orientation should be treated exactly the same way we treat race in law and culture.

Gay-marriage advocates say it all the time: People who think marriage is the union of husband and wife are like bigots who opposed interracial marriage. Believe them. They say it because they mean it.

The architects of this strategy have targeted marriage because it stands in the way of the America they want to create: They hope to use the law to reshape the culture in exactly the same way that the law was used to reshape the culture of the old racist south.

Gay-marriage advocates are willing to use a variety of arguments to allay fears and reduce opposition to getting this new “equality” principle inserted in the law; these voices may even believe what they are saying.

But once the principle is in the law, the next step will be to use the law to stigmatize, marginalize, and repress those who disagree with the government’s new views on marriage and sexual orientation.

Many of the harshest legal conflicts could be alleviated with religious-exemption legislation. But “gay-marriage” advocates will fight those religious exemptions tooth and nail (as they did in Massachusetts when the Catholic Church asked for one for Catholic Charities) because, they will say, it’s the principle of the thing: We wouldn’t give a religious-liberty exemption to a racist, so why should someone who opposes gay “marriage” get one? …

This November, voters in California will have a chance in the privacy of the voting booth to either affirm or repudiate California’s supreme court decision.

What is at stake in the California marriage debate now taking place? The meaning of marriage, the idea of judicial restraint, and the official harassment and repression (by our own government) of traditional religious faiths.

Failure in California not an option. Conservatives and other people of good will need to recognize the battle we are in. We didn’t choose it, but for better or worse it is here.
