"John 1:34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God."

I like the Gospel of John. In this book the Holy Ghost witnesses to the truth of the Son of God. It pulls no punches and literally declares that the Father sent his only begotten Son into the World. Called the “Lamb of God” by John the Baptist in Chapter one, which refers to the ‘consolation of Israel’ many devout Jews were waiting for. When this arrived, many had been waiting for him and yet, many others did not even recognize him. God was doing a work and those who tried to figure this out by mans wisdom or by mans spirit within them, could not. This could only be discerned and known through God by the Holy Ghost. The Valley of Achor: meaning ‘trouble’, they would find a ‘door of hope’.

Here in Hosea we find the L-rd G-d wooing, alluring Israel. Hosea speaks to both houses, that is, Israel the Northern Kingdom and Judah itself. The Northern Kingdom had gone away from the L-rd G-d and served other gods. Meanwhile Judah did not. Although the Northern Kingdom was carried away captive, Judah did not get invaded and carried away for some time after the Northern Kingdom.

In this passage we find that the Lord would come to her [Northern kingdom, Israel, Ephraim] and speak comfortably to her. In this we find the mention of the Valley of Achor. In the midst of her own idolatries and whoredom, G-d is giving her hope. Achor here means trouble and it was in the valley of Achor where Achan and his family were stoned for their sins. It means trouble.

2 Chronicles 16:9a For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

As I write this the sun beats down from a blue sky. The days of rain are a memory but the high water still exists as the river runs the highest in decades. The lakes are full today, some dams running over as the drought of yesterday is now over. I took time to check the garden out and it is growing and doing very nicely. But even as I say this, on our news show, we cover heart and gut wrenching events that surely put the worry in many. As the world turns and tosses in its end time madness, I thank God for his goodness to me and my family. I praise him for his provision and protection. I see so much trouble and heartache as a Watchman I both feel it and am troubled by it, but to add to this, I also intercede on the behalf of those who need help. It is impossible not to be affected in some way by these events. These times are stressful to many and for these it will only get even more so. There is absolutely no way to step from where we are today to the time of the arrival of our Messiah Yeshua [Jesus Christ] with faith and hope in the Lord. That is why I write this today, as the sun hits the desk on which I write, the trees gently sway in the breeze. Life goes on, but in the end, all life is subject to the LORD.
