Twilight of the Dawn of Hope

The Twilight of the Dawn of Hope

dawn of hope

Isaiah 28:12  To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

Acts 3:19  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

In the twilight of the day,

There remains a rest to a man.

Yea, such a rest that relieves him,

I say bringing refreshment from all his labors,

Heartaches, and troubles that assail him.

What say ye doth this come from?

Is it from the strength of man’s ability to do so?

Nay, but this relief cometh from the MOST High God,

Such as to whom a weary soul can look to the LORD!

For it is the LORD who sends this refreshing ,

saith my God, ‘to the troubled spirit’ and ‘weary soul’,

For the breath of the LORD bloweth over the soul of man,

Lifting up his countenance, renewing Him for another day.

For will ye listen to the wind?

What does it say?

Remain calm oh man, for there is no voice!

Yet, if you will quiet your spirit,

There shall yet be a whisper behind you,

It sayeth, “this is the way walk ye in it”

Deuteronomy 4:24  For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

Hebrews 12:29  For our God is a consuming fire.

Where will ye be oh man on that day?

What would you do on your own?

Would you save yourself?

Would you deliver thy family to safety?

What would the vainty of flesh do on the day of trouble?

For the pride of man speaketh to himself,

Which declares the strength and glory of man,

Yet in all this glorying, the clay is broken asunder!

Psalms 2:7  ¶I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

8  Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9  Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

10  ¶Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11  Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12  Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

I say this to you oh man,

There is a God in heaven,

As the Psalmist declares, “do you know God?”

Again, he sayeth, “what is his sons name?”

Further he remindeth you, “kiss the son, lest he be angry.”

For I fill this chorus with this refrain:

“There is a God in Heaven!”

He speaks,

He Hears,

He listens,

He understands,

He is full of grace,

He alone is full of mercy,

But, beware, ‘Our God is a consuming Fire!’

Salvation is with Him, yet many refuse his call.

What will ye do oh nations,

On that day he ariseth to shake thy world?

On that day, Oh man, when trouble finds you,

As a man who flee’s a lion and a bear meets him,

As a man who leans against a wall and a viper strikes,

As a man who declares God is dead, yet stands before him in eternity,

What will ye do oh ye vain and proud man?

The Mockers shall mock,

The Fools shall rejoice,

The Unwise will walk in their pride,

Up till the very end of their demise!

Haggai 2:7  And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.

Listen ye a while and get wisdom,

There remaineth a place in LORD,

For those who trust Him,

For those who honor his Name,

For those who keep his Commandments.

If you are wise, then call upon Him.

If you are unwise, ignore his call.

If you love death, then hate the LORD.

But to those who Love and Follow HIM,

Salvation is unto these who seek his face and hope in his mercy.

For he alone is a fountain of refreshing,

A haven of Mercy and a wellspring of Grace,

For those who would be found in the LORD God.

Yea, be found in Him oh man!

Kiss the Son, lest he be angry,

And ye be consumed in his Wrath.

Yea, Seek ye the LORD God Eternal

John 1:1  ¶In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2  The same was in the beginning with God.

3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Jesus Christ [Yeshua Ha Massiach] is the true way, eternal life, only Truth, he is the only begotten Son of the MOST High God, even our Father.

The Messiah

“A dynamic testimony for anyone would be able to say, ‘I saw and bare record that this is the Son of God,’ but for us today, we live by faith and have not seen personally this Son of God, but we still believe, based on this testimony and others like it. For with this testimony, and the work of the Spirit of God, the anointing breaks open the darkness in our hearts to let in the light of the Gospel, the good news of salvation. That good news is, God sent forth his Son to save sinners, of which, I am; but thanks to God, through the ‘Lamb of God, I now have been rescued by the ‘blood of the covenant’.  God has also given us his Spirit, which bears witness in our hearts, that we are the children of God! ”

John 1:34  And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

Romans 8:16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

1 John 5:6  ¶This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

There are so many passages in the Word of God that stand out to me. The Word of God, reveals to us the very heart of God. Through His Spirit, it is made real, with the anointing that the Word has in itself.  One passage, or should I say section of scripture stands out today as I write this. I read this, say this, and meditate on it. It is the first thirty four verses of John.

We find that John writes of the ‘logos’, the eternal Word made flesh. Jesus, Yeshua, the Son of God was in the Word or ‘logos’ in the beginning, the Word or ‘logos’ with God, and the Word or ‘logos’ was God. John points out in these verses that the Word here, used three times in the first sentence was ‘in the beginning with God’. He uses that thought twice in two verses. He makes sure, led by the Holy Spirit to pin point what the whole ‘testimony’ will be about that he is writing. He is not just writing about a carpenters son born in Israel at the time of the Roman occupation. He is writing about the ‘Word or Logos’, the only begotten Son of God. The Man, and he uses the delineation of “by him”, “without him”, “In him”, was life and this life was the light of men!

The One who was God, was with God and all things were made by him. He created in the beginning as the ‘Son of God’, who God the Father worked with calling all things into existence.  Now the very One in the beginning was coming as ‘the only begotten of the Father’, full of ‘grace and truth’, revealing his glory to all. Now coming to Man whom he created, man received him not. Now coming to Israel whom God chose, his own rejected him But here John puts in a caveat Those who did receive, believe on, trust in, and follow, to these, “he gave the power and right to become the children or sons of God.”  It is a process where human efforts fail. Human religious expression fail. Human exercises in good will and works fail. All fail, for man was under the law condemned. Man was in sin, missing the mark, now the Son of God, the ‘lamb of God’, would take away that sin. He was on a mission for his Father, directed by the fullness of the Spirit, anointing, and the Father himself, Jesus Christ was, is, and always will be the ‘life’ which gives ‘light’. Note here that in him was ‘life’, that is, to bring to ‘life’ that which is decaying, going to die, and under penalty of death. To redeem them from a curse, from the devil, from themselves. He had ‘life’ in himself to do this. To give life, bring life, establish life, and to allow that life to shed ‘light’ on the darkened hearts of men and women so they would see the heavenly truth of Love. The love of the truth that the Father, our God, so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe on him [trust in , rely on, cling too] would not perish but have everlasting life [read whole context of John 3]. So important is this ‘love of the truth’ that in the last days the whole delusion upon the earth is a ‘society that has rejected the love of the truth’ and therefore God will send them a delusion so they will believe a lie [read 2 Thess 2] .

This testimony of John called the Gospel of John, or the good news of John, is meant to bring forth the ‘testimony’ of John and those things he saw, heard, and experienced with the Word or ‘logos’, the ‘Lamb of God’, the ‘Son of God’, the carpenters son of Joseph and Mary, the Son of God, the Son of Joseph, the line of David, the Branch of Judah. What especially points us to who this One is and always will be is the testimony of John the Baptist.

The Prophets of God spent time with the Lord God. Many times their messages were tough and hard, meant to bring Revelation truth to those they were sent. This truth as in the case of Israel was to bring them to repentance before God, so they would not see his wrath. They were in personal contact with the Lord God. They knew his presence, his voice, and the power of His Spirit.  Thus, what they received, came not by man, but from God himself in direct revelation. So too, did John the Baptist. John was the cousin of Jesus, Yeshua, but the God who had sent him to baptize did not tell him it would be your cousin who is the Son of God, the one who Baptizes in the Holy Spirit. He told him the one whom you see the Spirit of God descending like a Dove from heaven and resting upon, staying there, is he who Baptizes with the Holy Spirit, the Son of God.

On two fronts God moved. Upon John the Baptist to be baptizing in Jordan directed by God to be a witness to what God was doing. By doing so, Men and women, boys and girls could see and hear first hand of what God was going. Israel, the religious Jews, and all others would have a solid testimony of two or three  witnesses according to law. Meanwhile, Jesus directed by His Father and the Spirit, went also to Jordan to be baptized, fulfilling all righteous requirements before God at this time. He appeared as Jesus, Yeshua, the carpenters Son, who preaches and left with a solid witness of being the “Lamb of God” that taketh away the sins of the World and “the beloved Son of God”. Here we find the voice of the Father saying “thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”, plus the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and the Son of God himself. This is a picture of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, along with the testimony of John the Baptist, the Father, and the visible testimonial sign of the Spirit of God. All of these plus the witness of the crowd around them who saw and heard these things form an undeniable testimonial as to veracity of the Father whom sent the ‘Son of God’.

Mark 1:9  ¶And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
10  And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
11  And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

One poignant verse in this, although, there are many; is verse 34 of John 1, which says “ And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.” This man, a prophet of God, says he saw all this, he saw the Son of God, he further puts it on record that the one whom he baptized that day was in fact the one and only, ‘Begotten Son of God.’ This man, again a prophet, one in whom is the Spirit of God, who receives direct revelation from God, was told whom it was that God had sent!  I mean can you even think about this for a moment. He stood there, knee or waist deep in water flowing, called the Jordan. He had been baptizing people, after they heeded his call for ‘repentance’. He looks up and see’s his cousin standing there, then suddenly a dove descends and lights upon his head, but this was not a bird, but the Holy Spirit. Then a voice booms out of nowhere, “Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” He was literally baptizing the One who was in the beginning with God, and was God, and all things were created through Him. This is awesome and a powerful picture. This is an outstanding testimony as well!

One day, we too shall see this one whom John baptized and testified that “this is the Son of God.” We also will say on that day, “this is the Son of God, I have been waiting for Him, he will save us”, for we will see him as he is! In all his glory! Just the thought of all of it should give us hope. For many of us, we have more work to do for him. We overcame by the ‘blood of the Lamb’, and also by our own ‘Testimony of Jesus’, but added to that is the fact as his followers, we in love keep his Word, obeying his instructions to us, his commandments, loving not our lives to the death.

Revelation 12:11  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Revelation 14:12  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus

2012- The Hype of Man

2012- The Hype of Man
By the Watchman Dana G Smith
Keywords: 2012, Roland Emmerich, hype, man, Lord, God, covenant, refuge, earth, prophecy,

I have no problem with a Director taking any aspect and making a movie of it. Although I have definite thoughts on this movie, I take care to tell you, it is his right and license to do as he thinks. The movie is his vision, with his research, it was designed as a final biblical authority on this matter. I do not criticize him, but look at the movie itself and its genre. P.S. on this matter, a Directors vision does not make it correct or the truth!

End of the World 2012

End of the World 2012

The other night we watched 2012. I would never, well almost never, go out to pay for a movie. We have a cheap seats theatre, but even in those 3.50 dollar a seat movie, we don’t usually go. We rented this movie at redbox. It was 2.5 hours or thereabout of pure unadulterated movie hype. Brought to you by computer tech savvy, green screens, and good acting. It featured a script with a few ideas adapted from the biblical repertoire, and modern prophetic scare tactics. Along with this it wove in its fabric a stellar humanistic theme and Unitarian world view. It added the ‘green theme’, ‘mother earth’ end time adaptation to bring it in union with the directors other endeavors.

The movie 2012 was directed by Roland Emmerich, a German Jew who loves to make ‘apocalyptic movies’. Roland says of his movies “all my movies are created because I’m fascinated by a subject. Sometimes I think there’s just a certain obsession about it all – when you want to do something just for the sake of it.” He has of recent focused on ‘global warming’. Among his movies are Independence Day [features his trademark of 'objects crashing into the camera'], Stargate [featuring his trademark of a 'insert or zoom-in shot of a villains eyes widening when meeting demise], and Moon 44[ where his feature of having the number 44 show up in his film]. He put a major effort into this movie, however, as with all disaster flicks, the script remains focused on disaster and lame character issues.

The movie itself had did not have depth in its script writing. As such, its characterizations were shallow, with typical troubles marring the relationships. Of course one cannot have a good disaster flick without the main characters besieged with paranoia’s, relationship troubles, bitterness, rivalries, etc. Such characters who shuttle in the film from disaster sequence to another. I won’t go into detail on the character issue, just suffice it to say the main character escapes with his wife who is living with another man, and his children, of course are there as well. His son hates him it seems while his daughter has a fantasy for ‘hats’, which is some sort of play on ‘her feeling safe when she has them on idea’. These relationships are carried through frame by frame in unbelievable disaster events that the director welds with stern abandon.

The public seems fascinated with such movies and big screen type epics with dynamite effects as this one. It is, however, all the creation of skilled writers, special effects, and technology savvy. American audiences seemed affected by these kinds of movies. I always wonder at how much the public spends on these gigantic message boards called movies. Always with a message, even subliminal. The public won’t like disasters so much if one comes knocking to their neck of the woods. Below are a few items I noticed on the way to the return bin.

1. The filmmakers used the typical ‘Ark’ scenario to save mankind
2. Mankind who does not receive the things of God, in this movie take the ‘Ark’ and with ‘mans’ technology saves the day!
3. Mankind who doesn’t understand that God made a covenant with us to never flood the earth again!

The truth is God set a covenant for all flesh!
Genesis 9:13  I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
14  And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
15  And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
16  And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
17  And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

4. It is interesting to note that in this film, the rich, well to do, politicians all get saved along with a few scraggly no bodies so to speak! Of course all man perishes except for these and few lucky souls!

The truth is God commands all men to repent!
Acts 17:30  And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

5. The typical scenario, those who pray and believe in prayer, are seen gathering looking upward and to their God as disaster kills everyone of them. The message, the Lord helps those who helps themselves, don’t stand around and pray or look to the LORD.

The truth is, God is our refuge!
Psalms 46:1  ¶<> God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2  Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3  Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
10  Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
11  The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

6. The next level of mans evolution is typed out and sent through this movie. It says, yes trouble is coming, global warming, sun spots, terrible time on the earth. But if man sticks together, he will make it. All men, all peoples, all religions, everywhere, we will make it to our next level of human endeavor and evolution.

The truth is, God’s kingdom shall never end!
Daniel 7:13  I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
14  And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

2 Timothy 4:1  ¶I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

7. The Prophets have foretold to us what the children of the LORD God are to expect during these days and we have strong assurance, that the LORD is our refuge, strength, and in him we will find salvation!

Psalms 34:6  This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
7  The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
8  O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
9  O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

I did not find it a terrible movie, but one that definately was, I repeat here ‘ad nausum’ for effect; full of skilled technical green screen and computer hack jobs. I found it promoting a ‘secular’ vision with certain biblical undertones in order to down play ones trust in the truth of the bible or the LORD God who gave his word.

In short, one can watch it for what it is! It also reminds us that things will get worse, but unlike these characters, I trust in the LORD and come what will, his peace will keep my soul from being tossed to and fro like the earth. His presence will keep me, he is my shelter, he is my refuge, and his Spirit will guide me into all truth in these last days! In the end, although this movie reminds us that such things are coming, we already know it. Just read Daniel, Isaiah 24, Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, and Revelation! We have read the book and have seen the LORD God in its role, guidance, and he has already declared the end from the beginning and we win, IN JESUS NAME!

Isaiah 48:17  Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

Today it is hard for America and most nations to believe that outside of their own domain of learning and experience there is any higher power that actively is involved in man’s pursuits of life and pleasure.  Man for the most part goes his own way, both to do wickedly and in many cases religiously as well. For even many religions seem to fall away from the Benevolence and care of a Loving God, one that is supreme which looks to the best interests of all his creation. In the manner and traditions we have seen in many religions including Christianity, bloodshed and hatred have been at the forefront.
