1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

This time of the year the morning sky is usually clear, the stars are out, and on a full moon the landscape is readily seen. The time is four thirty in the morning; I have been up for about an hour now. Usually that is, however, some mornings the Lord wakes me up early, real early. Those times are spent in quiet with Him pertaining to what the early morning wake up call is about. Sometimes intercession, other times quiet listening as I write what I believe the Holy Spirit gives me.

This like other weekday mornings the wife and I are off for our workout. We begin our workout at five am, opening the doors to the place along with a number of other stalwart people. In the spring and summer the mornings are cool and the air usually clean, that is except for a forest fire or fire on the desert and brush. When that happens you can smell it, as fires from Colorado, Montana, and even Canada can make it here, all depends on the jet stream. In the winter dark thirty as I call it comes early in the evening around five and is really dark at three thirty in the morning. The sun won’t raise till around seven thirty or eight. That is when the early time is hard, in the winter. It can be cold, brutal, and makes for a hard go on a daily basis. But we have been doing it for years now. It is part of our life.

This morning I am continuing a little workout after the wife has gone to shower and ready for work. Since I don’t have so much to do in that regards, I shower and dress in five minutes. As I work a machine for the stomach abs and sides I watch the others around me do their exercise. My wife and I are part of that generation that came to birth after WWII. This was the largest generation called the ‘baby boomers.’ Right after war all those GI’s came home to their wives and girlfriends. Marriage, the war just won and the new housing boom that would entail created a perfect climate for having babies. The generation that fought that war did have babies and lots of them. Now today that generation which saw the Korean war, Vietnam war, the middle east wars with Iraq, along with the turbulent protesting 60’s, the swinging 70’s, the abundant 80’s and 90’s is getting older. Women now either at my age or within some 10 years is all around me as are guys, every one of them fighting the same battle, which is age. The women are trying to get back that svelte figure they had in high school, while the guys are trying to lose that middle bulge, side pockets, and look as those they are 16 again. Still others are working out who have never seen the battle of the bulge, leastwise they look it. These are the ones who have little percentage of body fat, and higher muscle tone. Men and Women, every one of them, though, are heading to the destiny we call old age.

The Aftermath

The Aftermath

A Psalm and Allegory..

Who could of believed it? The Aftermath is a foreign concept in the American way of life.

Isaiah 13:12  I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

1 Corinthians 3:11  ¶For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

13  Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

Hades, burning with brimstone, sulfur, and smoke quenches not…

It is undone, civilized has given way to destruction….

The heaps of stone, brick, mortar, and blood are upon the land…

Where is the Word?

Who will tell us?

Why has this happened?

Will not anyone tell us, for the end has come…?

We are in disarray, let loose in a myriad array of bleakness…

The towers have been gone…

The smoke came once then left…

Now it has arrived again…

Terror has unleashed it’s horror upon us, once again…

Where is God?

If there is a God, where is he?

That I should argue the cause of this land…

For who is he to do this?

Why should this God do so?

Wail on, cry and moan, for the bitterness is yet not full!

They shall argue with the Most High on that day…

Curses shall fall upon the shadow of the Land against the Holy One…

For He has done this, an enemy, one who has dared judge the land.

Now let it be released in its fullness…

For the horror is not done…

Armies have come; the land is full of the corpses of warriors.

Where is justice on this day?

Where is my relief?

What has done this? Who should be blamed?

Setting loose the fabric of what holds all things in order.

For the end has come!

Where is help, the cries go up…

To whom shall we go now…

For all in the land of paradise is lost.

Nothing is left undone, all has been removed…

For the Day of the Most High has arrived…

We have squandered our lot and been found wanting…

Happiness has vanished; the wine and the alcohol do no good…

Marriage and giving in marriage is gone…

Buying and selling has been removed…

Alas, it is all gone…

All those things your soul lusted after is gone, Saith the Most High…

For when I called you did not answer…

Therefore I have chosen your delusions; I have counted out your fears…

I have brought them upon you oh vain ones…

Where is the shelter?

Can I hide for a moment and this will be past?

The land is full of the blood…

The armies from the north march down upon us…

The sweeping forces from the south come up…

We are surrounded, the violent take all by force…

The young men are no more…

Widows grovel in the ashes of the cities…

Mourning for the souls of men that are no more…

The high and lofty ones have been removed…

The lowly have been brought before the judge…

Look out, look out…

The ashes are smoldering…

Fires that cannot be quenched…

City upon city has been brought low…

The harvest is no more…

The storehouses are empty…

The famine has arrived with her brother pestilence…

The end is here, blackness has taken hold…

There is no hope…

There is no God…

Let me die…

For I am dead already…

Take me oh grave and shelter my bones in the dust of the earth…

Then I can forget the horror which has come upon me…

In a moment it was brought down…

I saw it and cannot believe it…

Where is the living ones?

Man now is more precious than gold…

If you should find one alive,

Then tell him to be thankful amidst the ruins…

The ruins of mere man who has forgotten the Eternal…

I cannot recall the past for the present has been too much…

The horror is upon my mind, while my eyes behold things too great…

How can I tell you?

How can I explain the emptiness of soul?

For there is nothing left, all I have worked for is gone…

In a moment, a twinkling and it has been removed…

Not only from me, but from an entire nation.

The enemy is upon us, his mirth has been married with hatred…

The sword is upon the people, blood runs in the streets…

The hunger is come and stayed while the battle wages its value in bloodshed.

There is no place to run…

No place to hide…

For the Sword has come…

To this place, this nation, and upon this people…

It should not of been, it should never have happened.

But we forgot the Eternal One who judges all things…

We let pride rule our thoughts…

We let iniquity loose in our flesh…

We ruled the nations and were feared among men…

We had all things, more than hearts could wish for…

Riches had we, piled high to the heavens…

Power was our right hand, and strength our left arm…

We feared not a soul, even God was subject to us…

We overruled death, and sickness was afraid of our power…

We ruled the darkness and had the knowledge of the ages…

We ruled as Gods, we knew as Gods, we were Gods,

Even the Stars understood this and gave obedience to us…

Yet, in all of this, we have met the end of ourselves.

For we have met the Eternal One, he has brought us before his table…

The Table of Judgment, the Seat of the Most High…

We have seen his terror…

We have found his fear…

For the swirling darkness of his judgments brought us low…

To the depths we sunk and have not recovered…

Rejoice not oh enemy of ours!

Rejoice not in thine heart oh nations…

Do not be astounded as we are…

Do not be found in the depths of sorrow for long…

For a deeper sorrow will find you…

A deeper anguish will bring you down as well.

For the Eternal will judge the nations…

He will bring you low oh enemy…

He will judge thy state oh nations…

You who rule thyself…

Doeth it very well?

For thy state shall be revealed during the Day…

Yea, the Day of the External’s justice upon the nations..

The Day the Lord God rises up to judge all peoples…

So stay not upon our anguish nor remember us…

For a stronger fate shall be yours as well…

For the Lord is no respecter of persons…

For whatsoever you do, it is that, which he will reward you for…

Stay put upon thy towers…

Warn all the brothers, yell upon the wall…

Tell all the people, warn them, and urge them to flee…

But into the hand of the LORD shall ye fall…

For as with us, there will be nowhere to run, or to hide…

For as with us, thine iniquity and pride shall bring you down.

You shall fall and not rise…

For the Glory of the LORD shall envelop all,

As the Waters cover the Earth.

Do not be like us…

Remember the Most High…

Follow his judgments…

Understand who his Son is…

Yea, follow the Lord, the Christ…

The Messiah, Yea, this is the Eternal’s Son…

Repent ye people, Seek ye the Lord…

That this thing does not find you…

That in the day of the Eternal’s Anger…

You will be hid.
