Jesus describes the days in which we live as a ‘snare’ that will come upon all the earth [Luke 2:35]. He further says in Luke 21:22, these are the ‘days of vengeance’ that all things written may be fulfilled. Paul states in 2 Thessalonians chapter two that the Lord will send a ‘delusion’ because the people refuse the ‘love of the truth.’ It can be furthered said “vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord” in Hebrews 10:30. Add to this in John three where almost everyone knows verse sixteen that says “for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him would not perish but have eternal life.” This verse alone has been responsible for men just thinking a light minded belief in God would transport them to heaven. Nothing could be further from the truth.
