The USA, Learning to Make War

Micah 4:3 Â And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Both the prophets, Isaiah and Micah speak of nations ‘learning war.’ Since the advent of the major World Wars, America has been sending its youth into battle. We have developed weapons of mass destruction. We have invaded other nations. Now as we approach a new election for President, we are still at war. The Bush doctrine has pushed us to this new level of war mongering. It is here that the war has lasted longer than World War II. It is here that on the advent of 9-11 and the Iraq war we must come to grip with who we are. We are a nation that has ‘learned to make war.’
