HOW TO: Land a Job at Microsoft

Everyone has a dream job. Whether it’s a company you’ve been pining to be a part of or a new product you’re dying to throw your creativity into, there’s always a line of work that seems like the perfect fit.

Though recognizing your ideal position is easy, actually getting the job is the hard part. For those looking to start a career at tech giant Microsoft, the sheer size of the company makes the hunt seem even more overwhelming. Resumes can get lost in a sea of applications, and finding the right contact to reach out to can be like searching for a needle in a haystack.

But that doesn’t mean you should give up on your dream of working at one of the most successful and dynamic corporations in the world. Here are some tips and resources from the company’s recruiters and employees for landing a job at Microsoft.

Getting Started

With so many locations and products, the first step in starting your Microsoft job search should be deciding where you want to work and what you want to create. Visiting the Microsoft Careers website can help answer these questions. There you can look for a specific position in the navigation bar or choose a country from the drop-down menu. On the Find Your Fit page, details on the company’s various professions and technologies are laid out to help you explore opportunities.

Once you apply by uploading your resume to a specific job posting on the site, it’s up for review. So how do you get that resume noticed?

Standing Out

Many recruiters use keyword searches to pull up resumes — but that doesn’t mean every other word needs to be “motivated” or “team player.” Be sure to list the names of certain technologies and programming languages you’ve used in each project you include. This will allow a recruiter to see what you know and how well you know it.

When putting together your resume, think about how you affected your environments and less about the basic facts of what you did. “Often, applicants write their resumes like a list of job tasks, but it’s even more important to call out your major achievements and the difference you made: what you did, how you did it, and why it mattered,” said Gretchen Ledgard, communications manager for Microsoft Recruiting.

Doing Your Homework

Microsoft is known for its difficult interview process and obscure questions. The best way to nail it? “Do your homework on us,” Ledgard said. Candidates who come in with knowledge about the role, team and location tend to already have an idea of how to frame their answers and are ready to ask solid questions.

Thom Mitchell, a Microsoft account technology strategist who was hired earlier this year, couldn’t agree more. He researched each person who was interviewing him and read up on the products he would be responsible for in the role and the competition for those products. He even prepared a short PowerPoint presentation about Microsoft products in case he was asked to present something on the fly (he wasn’t). When Mitchell asked questions, they were substantive and role-related — not “How are the health care benefits?” or “Is there a gym reimbursement?” More importantly, when he didn’t know an answer to a question he was asked, Mitchell simply said so and didn’t try to talk around the issue or come up with a fake answer.

Following Up

If you have questions after submitting your resume, many Microsoft recruiters are open to being contacted via social media, Ledgard said. Microsoft Careers is also open to connecting through social networks and has resources for potential job candidates on its advice hub JobsBlog.

But how do you strike a balance between keeping your name on the radar and being a nuisance? For Mitchell, the key was checking in as needed. He followed up with the recruiter after each screening interview and sent brief thank you notes to the hiring manager he interviewed with in person — but not to each person who interviewed him. Mitchell said his recruiter let him know what would happen every step of the way, so there wasn’t a need to over communicate.

Finding a Fit

There’s a big focus on not only job fit, but also company fit at Microsoft. Recruiters look for people who go above and beyond in everything they do, whether that’s taking the most difficult computer science courses or working on extracurricular projects, Ledgard said.

Still, there’s no fool-proof formula for landing a job at Microsoft. Even though the position you’re applying for might feel like the perfect match, sometimes it’s just not. Microsoft’s recruiters and hiring managers are the experts on what type of person will be a good fit for both the job and the company culture. The best advice? Relax. If it’s meant to be, it will.

Have you scored a job at Microsoft or are you trying to? What has your experience been like? Tell us in the comments below.

Nwslr-011010-The Two Lions

The Two Lions
“One comes of Strength and righteousness, sayeth my God, delivering the people and destroying the destroyer”

The Watchman Dana G Smith

For the Lord did show me to do thus, ‘write on the Two Lions’, for the one has triumphed and the other shall go down to the dust. For the Lion of which I first do speak, shall tear as a Lion, as a young and strong Lion, for out of the rod, stem, and branch of Jesse did he come. Yea, he came as Lion from the Tribe of Judah, out of Jacob his Father. For truly, this Lion shall reign, for the Lord has said ‘of David, his line shall sit upon the throne forever’, a priest sayeth scripture, ‘after the order of Melchisedec’, and a strong one that shall ‘rule the nations thereof’, with this scepter of strength. A Lion, a strong Lion, forever, amen, for the Lord has said this shall be done and the covenant will not be undone:

Will America Be Ready, Will YOU?

Will America Be Ready, Will YOU?

Jeremiah 33:17  ¶For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
18  Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
19  And the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, saying,
20  Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
21  Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
22  As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
23  Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,
24  Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
25  Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;
26  Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.

So it has been spoken and it shall be, for the Lion will come and has come, to do the will of his father, for even David sayeth by the “Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool” [Mark12:36]. So then as David knew, of this one who was to come, still he wrote of that time when the “Kings of the earth” who would “set themselves in array” against the “LORD and against his anointed saying, ‘Let us break their bands asunder and cast away their cords from us”. It is this them that the LORD has said, thus delivering to the peoples, a king, a warrior, a prince, and his son, saying “Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD said unto me, Thou art my Son, this day Have I begotten thee.” To him, sayeth the LORD, “ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron, thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings, be instructed ye judges of the earth, Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little.” Still saith the LORD, “blessed are all they that put their trust in him” [Portions from Psalm 2, the royal psalm].

Even Balaam, provoked and prodded by Balak to curse Israel, could not do so, for the LORD God provided that the curse should not come. It was to Israel, Jacob, whom was blessed saying “how goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel!” It was to this one the LORD had chosen, from the loins of Abraham, the promise of a seed, now coming forth out of Egypt by a mighty hand, yet, Balaam saw this and said of Jacob, “He crouched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion, who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee. [Portions from Numbers 24:5-9] It was from this great ‘Lion’ that the “Lion, prevailed, who later came out of his loins and did conquer!” For it is written in the book of Revelation of this “Great Lion”, saying: “The Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.” [Rev 5:5]

For it had been written aforetime by the prophets of this one who is to come, and come he did, “in the volume of the book, it is written of me, Lo, I come to do thy will Oh LORD”.

Psalms 40:7  Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
Hebrews 10:7  ¶Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Even Isaiah prophesied to Ahaz saying, “ And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?  Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [Isaiah 7:13-14].” Of this, cometh forth a child to be born, the Savior, whom Isaiah later says this describing him: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” [Isaiah 9:6-7]

To this end do I speak, for of this Lion, who came, he did conquer, to deliver those who trust in his name, blessed are those who hope in the Mercy of the LORD of Hosts who has done this great thing. Again Isaiah speaks that which confirmeth the Word aforetime of Jesse, and of his roots, saying: “And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

It is to this Kingdom, of which, he shall govern, and that righteously, forever, unto this One, the true LORD, the Savior, the LION of the tribe of Judah, the branch of Jesse, the Son of God, only begotten, doth the gentiles seek, for he is the ensign and banner for the people. That all may be in one, both Jew and Gentile, male and female, one in him, the Messiach, Yeshua, Jesus Christ! Isaiah speaks to this further revealing that “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. ¶And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.” [Portions of above paragraphs from Isaiah 11:1 - Isaiah 11:10].

This one who came as a Lion, conquered as a “Lamb”, being led as a sheep to the slaughter, for the cross beareth him upon it, for the sins of mankind.. Scripture saith in the book of Revelation that the “Lion of the tribe of Juda” has conquered, and has brought salvation to us, thus it is written: “And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.” [Revelation 5:6]

Yea, it is true, “Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.” [Revelation 5:9]

Truly the song they sung and all those to whom it is given to do so, shall ring out in chorus’ of:

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

Now thusly in closing do I write of the  other Lion, who devours, steals, and has destroyed, yea, he is become defeated, and that quite mightily. For the True Lion of the Tribe of Judah has triumphed over all principalities, powers, and has cast down that one who is now defeated! Defeated yes, and that one, whom is the adversary, still walks about seeking whom he can devour and destroy. Yet, we must resist this one in the faith, for the Lion who triumphed, of Judah has given us his strength to prevail!

1 Peter 5:8  ¶Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

To our beneficence, I say that with faith and obedience to Him our Lord, Jesus Christ, we can walk in him as scripture saith, rooted, built up, and established in him in the faith. It is to this One, our LORD, that did tear down the high powers against us so that we may overcome all thing, even him, who walks about us today, seeking to deceive us, devour us, destroy us, if we are not awake and aware of his presence. For we are not ignorant of his ways!

Colossians 2:6  As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7  Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11  In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12  Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13  ¶And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15  And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Be strong, and let the Word of God abide in you, so too, you will overcome the wicked one!

1 John 2:14  I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

We overcame [past tense] by the ‘blood of the Lamb’, by the word of our testimony, and loving not our lives unto the death.

Revelation 12:11  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

The wicked one, shall make war with the Lamb and with his saints, but in all this he shall not win, for those who are with the Lamb, are called, chosen, and faithful!

Revelation 17:14  ¶These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

The messiah banner

I stood in the hall of the Hospital as he approached. He was an older man, graying hair that formed into a pony tail in the back. He came directly to me. As He came up, he spoke as if he knew I was a believer. After some small talk about seeing me around, he said, “I died and went to heaven. I stood in front of the throne, there was God the Father and Jesus on standing on the side of him.” He told me of his wife and her trouble with collapsed lungs. “The Lord told me I would never again be sick” he said looking me in the eye. “Did you know that Jesus never did say he was God?” He waited for a response as I looked him in the eye. “You can look it up, nowhere does he say, he was God!” After a few seconds, he took off, as quick as he came up to me. I saw him only once more while I was there, but he did not give me a second glance. Now while many people such as this one have had a dream or experience, the truth is revealed in scripture. It is our final source of authority. What is written and who writes it, and under what inspiration is it? The Word of God, given to us, through the Prophets and Apostles, are given as a record and testimony to the Christ, the Son of God. It is this authority, written under God-breathed inspiration to us which should formulate for us as to what is true or not. It is not to be dictated by a dream, vision, or even a miracle we may see.

The Testimony of Christ, What did he say?

I have heard others use that same phrase, “Jesus never did say he was God”, to say Jesus was not God. There is no doubt that some people do not understand how to begin with this idea. First, let me say, Jesus did not come to testify that he was God, only that he was the Son of God, revealing the Father. Second let me also say, the word Jesus is our English transliteration for the greek is IESOUS and is the Hebrew Yehoshua or Yeshua, meaning ‘Yahweh saves’. Christ (Christos) is the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew Messiah, Massiach or Mashiah, meaning ‘anointed’. So if you were on the streets of Jerusalem and saw a young preacher who many thought was the ‘anointed one’, they would not call him Jesus, nor would he respond to your calling him Jesus. That said, today in the English speaking world, we call the Jewish Messiah, the son of David, the son of God, Jesus. His Hebrew title would be Yeshua HaMassiach or Ha Massiah, meaning “Yahweh saves’, the anointed one.

Jesus did tell the Jews in John Eight, verse twenty-four b, saying “ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” In this passage, Jesus was directly referring to the prophets who spoke of the coming Messiah. In looking at this, let us see first what the Apostle John had to say about this Christ, the son of God. John describes, as does the Apostle Paul of Jesus being at the beginning of Creation, and not only being there, but instrumental in its creation.

John 1:1  ¶In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2  The same was in the beginning with God.
3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In the above phrase the Apostle John uses the verbage ‘Word’, and capitalizes its first letter. The verbage ‘Word’ is used three times in the first sentence of John as an introduction to those who would read it and what the gospel of John would be about. The apostle flatly states in the first sentence and uses the verbage ‘Word’ as a proper name or title. This book, John wrote is about the ‘Word’ being made flesh. It is about the anointed one, the Christ. Thus, the verbage ‘Word’ is a title of Christ, and is capitalized meaning a proper name.

Thus emphasizing the diety of Christ and communication of who God is and what he is like. [Strongs 3056.]

The Apostle John says in chapter one, verse one “theos en ho logos”, meaning that the Logos or Word is God. In This first glimpse of the testimony of John, we find that the Word is God. Again let me emphasize that the verbage ‘Word’ is capitalized, meaning a name. It is a title, describing that the Word was with God in the very beginning, the Word was God, and nothing was made without him. God the Father, created all things, through the Word, whom we know as Christ Jesus. This alone makes the divinity of Christ as God a legitimate aspect of his being. That said, while he was God, he was also man.

John further recounts his testimony in his first epistle referring to Christ, as being “that which was from the beginning.” It was Christ, John refers to as also saying the one “which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled of the Word of life.” This powerful testimony directly relates to John the first chapter.

1 John 1:1  ¶That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2  (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3  That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

The Apostle Paul calls him “the first born of all creation” Col 1:15. From the Messianic verse found in Psalms 89:27, which states “Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.”

The title “first born” does not mean that Christ himself was the first one created; what the title does mean is that Christ, existing as he did before all creation, exercises the privilege of primogeniture [Right of inheritance belongs exclusively to the eldest son] as the Lord of all creation, the divinely appointed heir of all things. [Lectures in Systematic Theology, Thiessen, p209]

Hebrews 1:2  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Ephesians 1:4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
John 1:3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
1 Corinthians 8:6b one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Colossians 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

The Coming Kingdom

The Coming Kingdom

and the Saints of Light

world turmoil

‘We are waiting for the Lord to literally return to this earth’

 Proverbs 14:34  ¶Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Summer is past here in this country. Leaves reveal their golden aura and are dropping to the ground like snow in winter, being gathered by the fall wind and blown about. Everyone is preparing for the coming cold months. For us, a heavy snow this time of year is nothing. Although, many times the worst snows come in the spring, usually before the real outbreak of warm weather.

October in it’s essence for the nation we live in; called America is one of enjoying summer’s harvest and preparing for the coming holiday seasons. Wal-Mart by this time has the collection of Christmas items already out, along with their sacred Halloween teasers. For us, though, October is not about these things at all. It is and has been about the fall feasts of the Lord. They signify the harvest feasts and prophetically point to that which is coming. These feasts signify the completion of our salvation in Yeshua [Jesus Christ] Ha Massiach, His kingdom on the earth, and our coming together in Him on this earth. This years fall feasts are about over, with only one day left of Sukkot, called the Feast of Tabernacles. It is one feast mentioned in Zechariah. It is important and also tells us, in the new kingdom that Yeshua brings; the feasts will play an important role. Tabernacles, for one, will be kept by all the nations at the time.

Zechariah 14:16  ¶And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Zechariah 14:18  And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Zechariah 14:19  This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

we are waiting for the Lord

‘we are waiting and watching according to Mtt 24′

October has seen the rise and fall [unsteadiness] of the market economies of the world. The oil trouble and high gas prices have given way to the pressure of recession and possible depression. The real wave of trouble hit on the first eve of Rosh Hashanah with the Stock market crashing losing 777 points. It then regained momentum on the eve of Sukkot producing the biggest gain in stock market history. Both of these events occurred during the fall feasts and are a signal to those who will listen. The Lord is shaking all things, including the money, stocks, Dow, and the security most people and nations look too. They also signify that the kingdom is coming and it is a voice to the people of God to look, watch, and be ready. For the unbeliever, however, these mean little or nothing at all. For those who ignore the signs of the events during these fall feasts, well, they are pleasingly ignorant.

To get caught up in the secular and worldly spirit that affords many today, is not an option to a believer. They are to be in the world and not of it. They are not to love this world, or the things in it. Just as the Jews spent their time in the wilderness in a Sukka, and just as Abraham went out ‘looking for a city whose builder and maker is God’, so too, believers are to be temporary in this life. We are to fix our gaze upon Calvary and the Christ, the only begotten Son of God, Yeshua [Jesus Christ] and not upon things or money. We are to be ‘blameless and harmless’ the Apostle Paul says. Paul further telling the Philippians that they are to live as such amidst a ‘crooked and perverse’ nation. They were to be lights, shining out amidst the darkness of the world. The scripture tells believers pointedly they are to be a Standard for others to see and follow, at no time were we to be like the world, look like the world, or be like the world. We live in America; other believers live in other nations. All of these nations are ‘crooked and perverse’. There are many today in this nation that walk in their own version of righteousness and living as they see fit.

Philippians 2:15  That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

The real truth for Christian believers today is they do represent a holy priesthood and belong to a holy nation. They are and God expects them to be a peculiar people. They are different. They do not walk in darkness, but shine forth as lights. It is this difference that we should establish in our Christian walk in this day and age. They are different, as I said earlier, Christians are peculiar [strange, weird, unusual, abnormal] as far as relating to the world. Many unbelievers see this strangeness as being ‘religious’, being a ‘religious nut.’ The truth is the real believers are adverse to religious ways and religion. This is not about doctrines, followers of men, denomination titles, or diatribes of men. This is a living breathing relationship with the King of Kings himself. His Spirit is in each believer, who has been born again by the Spirit of God, not by the will of man. Each one is not following the Lord because he or she has too. They were not coerced, forced fed, baptized as babies, nor led through a maze of man made religious exercises to be accepted to man’s idea of religiousness. No, these believers can hear the voice of the Lord. For them, his will is paramount. These are literally waiting for the King to arrive. They fully expect to see Him on this earth. They read his word, listen to his Spirit, follow his voice, and walk according to His commandments. Indeed, they are lights that shine out amidst the perverse nature of the people in America today. For Americans have no qualms about eating too much, drinking too much, marrying and divorcing as they see fit, nor do they have trouble with sex and enjoying it to its literal perversion. Perversion for Americans is accepted, so too, it is likewise seen as favorable in many nations today. Even greed, pride, and following any number of Idol Gods are enjoyed around the world. For many people today, man is the ultimate number here. His ability to think, create, and build will bring in a New World Order and the abyss of happiness they all long for. The only rule in this New World will be there is no law. Anything goes, there are no absolute truths, and there is no heaven or hell. The moment you live in is all that matters, so enjoy it to its fullest.

1 Peter 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

It is into this generation that believers in the last days are hurled forth. Fulfilling prophecy, the scripture warns us that the Lord will ‘shake’ the nations. We are told that there will be deceptions, deceivers, wars, rumors of war, and that men’s hearts will fail them for fear of those things coming upon the earth. This is the time when the believer can be light and salt. They can give hope to the hopeless, a cure for the anguish of heart, and let people know the Lord will forgive those who come to him and repent. He will give peace to replace the heart of fear, with the assurance and presence that only the Lord himself can and does give.

It is into this future that the believers will move forward. Not as conquered, but as conquerors. Not killing and bringing blood for blood, but with the Love of Christ. As they are met by hatred, they give love. When met with danger and death, they meet it with faith and patience. These are people who know the Lord, trust in him, doing as he commands, by walking in Love. These are those who have been redeemed to God by the blood of the Lamb. These are those who overcame by that same blood, the very word of their own testimony, and they love not their lives unto death. They are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus who saved them and brought them unto himself. They know the LORD and his voice. They walk in his power, peace, assurance, and by the presence of his Spirit in them. Yes, they are the lights that will give hope, and even though the world tries to stomp their lights out, yet they will shine ever more bright than before. For if the Lord is for us, than who can be against us. Greater is he that is in us, Jesus Christ [Yeshua Ha Massiach], than he [the devil and his minions] who are against us and provokes other men against the saints of Light.

Revelation 5:9  And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

“Exposing the World’s Sin, righteousness, and Judgment”

“Unbelief, Unrighteousness, Judgment”

John 16:7  ¶Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8  And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9  Of sin, because they believe not on me;

10  Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11  Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

What will History Record

What will History Record

by Stan Goodenough

That in mid-May, 2009, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appealed to the United States to make a priority of stopping Iran from pursuing the nuclear bomb that threatens Israel’s existence.

That the Obama administration refused.

And that just over one week later, America was standing on the edge of a potential nuclear conflict with North Korea, which test-fired an atomic warhead and launched a handful of surface-to-surface missiles in a defiant show of force.

Let me be clear: I do not claim that what I am about to write is “a word from the Lord.” Some of the thoughts I will express here have simply “dropped into my head” over the last 24 hours; they came without any leading from a third party and, while they resonate in my spirit, they have not been confirmed by two or three witnesses; or even one. Nor have I had any dreams or visions about this. See below.*

On May 18, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in the White House with the president of the United States, Barack Obama.

Both the run-up to and aftermath of that much anticipated meeting have been spun every which way by the media, with a solid majority of columnists and talk show hosts focusing in on “the relationship,” on “reading between the lines” and on analyzing the “body language” between the two.

Some harked back to the days when frigid winds blew in the Clinton White House after a Netanyahu visit during the Israeli’s first tenure in office. Would “Bibi” again forget his “place?” Watchers saw a nervous “regional power medium weight” sitting opposite a self-assured “global superpower heavyweight,” and they gave the American kudos for not allowing Netanyahu to “deflect” him from the “real obstacle to peace,” that is, Jewish settlements. To other observers,Netanyahu strongly withstood the not inconsiderable pressures an American administration can bring to bear. He stuck to his guns, refused to subscribe to the “two-state solution” and should have been welcomed home as a hero. (He wasn’t.)

There was more; much more analysis, from serious reporters and from the fringe, underscoring why the profession is often referred to as a media circus.

But let’s put aside the fluff of press predilections and spinmeister speculations, and get to the substance of what’s really taken place.

It’s a matter of gravest consequence.

Netanyahu didn’t go to the White House seeking a photo opportunity. He went to ask for American leadership and support in dealing with the out-of-control Iranian nuclear threat that is primarily directed against the Jewish state.

From the day of his inauguration on March 31, Netanyahu has been looking for Washington to take Iran seriously.

“If you don’t stop Iran, I’ll have to,” he messaged Obama, just hours before being sworn in.

Instead of responding appropriately, the American dissembled. Get going with the two-state solution, Obama shot back, and we’ll be better able to deal with Tehran.

This was Obama’s response too when the two leaders spoke to the press after their May 18 meeting.

Netanyahu said “the worst danger Israel faces is that Iran would develop nuclear military capabilities.”

“Iran openly calls for our destruction, which is unacceptable. It threatens the moderate Arab regimes in the Middle East. It threatens US interests worldwide. But if Iran were to acquire nuclear weapons, it could give a nuclear umbrella to terrorists or worse, could actually give them nuclear weapons. And that would put us all in great peril.”

Netanyahu’s position was that it was necessary to deal with Iran first, and with the “Palestinian” question later.

Obama publicly disputed him.

“If there is a linkage between Iran and the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, I personally believe it actually runs the other way,” the American said. “To the extent that we can make peace with the Palestinians – between the Palestinians and the Israelis, then I actually think it strengthens our hand in the international community in dealing with the potential Iranian threat.”

The president went on to suggest that he might reassess his “let’s talk” approach to Iran if, by year’s end, there was no sign it was having an affect. Netanyahu expressed his appreciation, but administration officials “close to Obama” later quickly emphasized that no deadline had been set.

What, in fact, do we have here?

Israel’s leader has asked the US to help stop Iran from acquiring the means to inflict a holocaust on the Jews.

America’s leader is not willing to go that way. On the contrary, as The Jerusalem Post’s Caroline Glick wrote, the Obama “administration has made its peace with Iran’s nuclear aspirations. Senior administration officials acknowledge as much in off-record briefings. It is true, they say, that Iran may exploit its future talks with the US to run down the clock before they test a nuclear weapon. But, they add, if that happens, the US will simply have to live with a nuclear-armed mullocracy.”

Two days after Netanyahu met with Obama, Iran successfully test fired a ‘Sajil’ surface-to-surface missile with a 1,200 mile range. Israel is less than 1000 miles from Iran.

Two days later, on May 22, a public survey indicated that one in four Israelis is so fearful of the specter of a nuclear Iran that they plan to leave their homeland forever if the mullahs get their hands on the bomb.

On May 24 Iran’s former Revolutionary Guards chief Mohsen Rezai warned that his country “understands missiles and tanks as well as foreign policy and knows exactly where Israel’s sensitive spots are. It could stop them forever with one strike.”

On May 25, a grim-faced Bibi told his cabinet: If we don’t deal with Iran, no one will.

On May 27, a new poll found that 51 percent of Israelis want the IDF to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities now. This despite Bibi’s warning to expect a large number of Israeli casualties if a strike goes down. Iranians have boasted that they have the capability to destroy Israel within just 11 days.

Also on May 27, Iran deployed six warships and other vessels into international waters in what Fox News called a “saber-rattling” move.

For five days this coming week the world, and specifically the United States government, will watch the Israeli nation ready for full scale war in the largest ever national military exercise since 1948.

But Netanyahu’s appeal for America to step up to the plate has fallen on deaf ears.

Instead, the Obama administration finds the idea of “reaching out to the Muslim world” more appealing just now.

And it knows that one of the most effective ways it can do that is by pushing Israel into compliance with the ‘Arab Peace Initiative.’

Thus did Secretary of State Hillary Clinton emphasize Wednesday the American “expectation” that Israel would immediately comply with the Arab demand that it halt any and all settlement activity.

President Obama “wants to see a stop to settlements – not some settlements, not outposts, not ‘natural growth’ exceptions,” Clinton said. “We think it is in the best interests [of the peace process] that settlement expansion cease. That is our position. That is what we have communicated very clearly. … And we intend to press that point.”

Do they?

How interesting then, that exactly one week after spurning Israel’s appeal, the United States this week suddenly finds itself confronting a nuclear-detonating, missile launching North Korea?

Is it really just happenstance that Hillary Clinton Wednesday evening, at the same news conference, in almost the same breath, was leveling stern warnings at both Jerusalem and Pyongyang?

Or is Someone Else fighting for Israel?

History will tell.

But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.
For I am the LORD your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I gave Egypt for your ransom,
Ethiopia and Seba in your place.
Since you were precious in My sight,
You have been honored,
And I have loved you;
Therefore I will give men for you,
And people for your life.
(Isaiah 43:1-4)

Therefore please hear this, you afflicted,
And drunk but not with wine.
Thus says your Lord,
The LORD and your God,
Who pleads the cause of His people:

“See, I have taken out of your hand
The cup of trembling,
The dregs of the cup of My fury;
You shall no longer drink it.
But I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you,
Who have said to you,
‘Lie down, that we may walk over you.’
And you have laid your body like the ground,
And as the street, for those who walk over.”

(Isaiah 51:21-23)

* When, in 2004/5, the Sharon government was preparing to uproot the Jews of Gaza, destroy their homes and hand over that territory to the Palestinian Arabs, I widely – in my writing and in meetings across the United States – expressed my strong feelings that the Disengagement would not happen, that God would not let it take place. I based my position strongly on God’s word through the prophet Amos when He said: “…I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them,” says the LORD your God. (Amos 9:15). It was also clear to me that God had, in the 1967 Six Day War, miraculously restored Gaza (and Judea and Samaria and “East” Jerusalem) to Jewish sovereign rule after nearly 2000 years. Despite the mounting evidence before my eyes that the plan was going to be executed, I held to the conviction it would not take place. It did, of course. And not long afterwards I was challenged by an emotional fellow believer who told me: “You had better publicly confess that you were wrong when you said God told you that there would be no Disengagement.” In fact, to the very best of my recollection, I had never said that God told me anything of the sort. All along I had expressed MY thoughts; MY sense, MY conviction, even MY belief. But I never said that God had spoken.

Following that uprooting I watched, mesmerized, as Hurricane Katrina prepared to unleash its devastating fury on the south-eastern United States. Deep inside I just KNEW that this was the Divine response to years of America’s relentless pushing of Israel that had culminated in the Gaza disaster. Did God TELL me it was Him? Maybe He did – through what I read in the Bible and through the spiritual witness shared by so many others – among them Katrina’s victims – that this was indeed God’s judgment. Even so, what I did as the hurricane roared ashore in Louisiana was ask the question: Was Katrina the ‘fist of God?’ However certain I may be of the answer to that question, I never claimed to have heard from Heaven God saying “the storm is My response.” One day we will know.
